none of the master files used in this save game are loaded

when I click on the saves tab it says "The following save files have corrupted headers:

*autosave.bak

*autosave.ess

*Save 1 - Lord Gecko - Waterfront, Level 19, Playing Time 46.02.04.ess"

 

I press ok and then there are no saves in the saves tab

You cannot use corrupted saves. Those are lost.

 

 

Edit: Were you using Oblivion's quick save feature or saving over the same save file multiple times? You should install Streamline and use its quick saves and auto saves, instead.

Yes. Unfortunately, corrupt saves are a black hole. Were you saving on top of old save files frequently. Try Streamline or Kuertee's Auto-save and time in order to make sure you have frequent backups. I have StreamSave's autosave feature set to four minute intervals and have it set to cycle through 55 saves (the max is 60.) I have not used Kuertee's mod, but it offers that functionality with a little bit more. It does not replace Streamline's other features, of course, but either one should be worth trying.

At least, you did not lose 200. You do not have earlier saves? I save in two to four minutes (auto) intervals, haha (compulsive saver.) I keep about a hundred saves per profile (when I am using it.)

I HAD an earlier save but that corrupted when I tried to load THAT one

Geez, it sounds like the whole game is corrupted. Regenerate your Oblivion.ini, and turn off Oblivion's autosaves.

is deleting it

 

 

that's why experienced gamers

 

keep literally thousands of saves.

 

 

but try the suggestions before you abandon your last remaining save.
