Falco544
Okay, i'm a semi new modder so if u can keep your terminology at idiot level for me that would be appreciated. Whenever i download a new mod using WinRaR, it will download properly, and i'll have no problem extracting to my data file. But when i go to the data files to activate the mod (the checklist thing), its no there. I read the thread about how some mods can be defective. But I read the comments to a lot of these mods and everyone either says "Great Job, Endorsments". So i think it's something i am doing. This doesn't happen with all my mods though and it doesn't matter what software that its compatible with because i use WinRaR to extract OBMM files also and some work and some don't. What's going on here?
ub3rman123
Make sure you that you are placing the .esp file into the correct location. If your Oblivion is installed in the usual spot, at Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data, put the .esp and other various bits into the Data folder. For OMOD (OBMM) files, you can put them into their own folder and let OBMM handle it. They go into Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\OBMM\Mods. Then when you start up OBMM, you can hit the 'activate' button to install the mods.

I actually did exactly what you stated and i still have this problem. It's weird man.
yeldarb
You might be having UAC issues. If you are using Windows Vista or 7,Oblivion works best when Installed outside of C:Program Files.I use C:Games\Oblivion.

I'm guessing i'll have to reinstall my game for that? Or can i just move it? EDIT: And i'm trying to move it now but i can't seem to find the C:Games file. Can you direct me where it is? ub3rman123
Uninstall it and reinstall it outside of the Program Files. I had a problem like that when I tried modding Fallout 3 on Windows Vista. Reinstalling it to My Games solved the problem perfectly.
