Sol'Kanar
Brock sighs.. He'd only meant to ask the poor man a few questions, not make him lose all his posessions. Bending down to comfort him, he counts out 25 coins and hands them to the sobbing commoner. Picking him back up from the ground, he tells him, "May the gods aid you speed in fleeing this hellhole." Hearing shrieks from elsewhere in the city, Brock sprints towards the cries for aid, and sees a mob advancing on two fallen commoners. Racing over to aid as he can, he is suprised to see the nord from their oh so boring errand. Calling over to her, he instructs, "We need to get them to shelter! Pull them into the merchant's store!" With that, he draws his mace and begins bashing at the door, trying to force entry so that the commoners can be moved into relative safety. Peregrine
The man's voice is like a gift from god, finally someone who is willing to help. Deciding that the guard's injuries are more serious, Alenee drags him over to the door first. "Take care of him, I'm going back from the other," she orders Brock. Without waiting for a reply, she pushes her way back into the chaos. Shoving a few people aside with the blunt end of her pike, she makes her way back to the fallen woman. With a threatening swing of her pike at the mob, she bends to pick up the second victim. With a bit of effort, she manages to keep the point between her and the mob long enough to get the woman out of danger. Finally clear, she confirms that the injuries do not need immediate attention, then drags her to the store as well. <ooc: yay! 500th post!>
Sol'Kanar
Finding the door giving plenty of resistance, Brock bends down a moment to prop the fallen guard against the building where he's less likely to be trampled. Returning to his task, Brock takes his mace in a two handed stance, takes a quick breath, then strikes the door with all his strength. Wood splinters, and a crude wooden bolt that had been keeping the store shut snapped. Pushing the door open, Brock drags the guard in, then sweeps the store's counter free of any debris or items. With a great grunt, he heaves the man onto the counter, lacking a better place to treat his wounds. Searching his bags, Brock realizes that he doesnt have any medicines with him. Hopefully that nord does...
thanateros
Addressing Alenee and BrockSafely inside you can hear the loud shouts of the angry mod dissipate down the street and towards the manor. Suddenly the shift turns from anger to terror. **Alenee, you distinctly hear the whistle of arrows soaring through the air, some land outside the shop.** **Brock, you notice screaming come from where the mod was headed, but can't pinpoint why the mood has changed** You both hear the sounds of swords drawing from down the street away from the Manor...seconds later you see three Hlaalu guards pass by the shattered window. "You all have your orders...leave none that remain in the city alive. He is coming an expects a warm welcome of blood flowing like a rive in the streets." They advance. Addressing AvelynWithout much effort at all you find The Book of Daedra shelved in the library. In the next room **You notice something odd about the fallen priests but can't place your finger on it** OOC: creepy eh?
Sol'Kanar
Brock holds his breath, keeping as still and quiet as possible until the guards pass. "Damn it all, has this whole world gone insane?" he thinks to himself. Turning to Alenee, he motions towards the window where the guards had been visible just a moment before. "It may be best to get ourselves as far away as we can. There's not much we can do against an entire troop of guards. Is there anything you can do for these two we pulled away? If not, we may have to leave them to their fate."
Peregrine
"I'm no healer," Alenee replies, her voice barely a whisper to avoid detection, "but these might help." She pulls some bandages and healing potions from a pocket in her cloak and hands them to Brock. And you're right, there's not much we can do against these odds. You hear that? That's the sound of archers... they've got the whole Hlaalu section under guard." She pauses a moment, as her sense of honor and self preservation fight for control of her thoughts. "Get these two out of here. I can't just stand passively and watch this disaster. If I survive the next few hours I'll meet you at the inn in Ebonheart. If the Empire's fallen, there won't be any hope for us anyway." Her expression, however, shows her lack of faith in her own survival. As she turns to walk out the door, she whispers a desperate prayer to Yabeth. Pushing all thoughts of death out of her mind, she opens the door and steps out into hell. "Citizens of Suran," she yells to the crowd, "your Hlaalu lords have betrayed you! All of you are under a death sentence to satisy whatever dark masters they serve! Run, or fight if you can, but if you stay and do nothing, you will surely die!" Spotting the guards attention focused on her, she readies her pike. "Get out while you still can," she continues, almost begging. Her voice drops, and she makes a final prayer to Yabeth. As she fades out of visibility, she brings her pike up in a defensive stance. Sol'Kanar
Brock stands a moment, disbelieving. That crazy woman... Glancing at his two charges, he examines their chances of survival. The guard? He was already gone. The woman, though, could easilly pull through. Glancing through the door where the Nord had just left, he hastilly applies bandages to the woman, halting the bleeding. Pocketing the potions for himself, he pauses a moment, fully realizing the odds that Alenee faces against the corrupt Hlaalu. "I could not live with myself were I to abandon such a valiant defender of these people. She will not fight alone," Brock mutters to himself. Gathering his strength, Brock strides out of the small merchant store, coming to stand beside Alenee. "To think, all this time we've spent in each other's presence and yet we've never been introduced. Nevertheless, let it be known that for as long as I can still raise a weapon against the enemy, you stand not alone, for Brock stands with you!" Drawing his mace, and unhooking his buckler, Brock's face turns grim as he surveys the enemy.
wesaynothin
Avelyn flips too the page about Mephala. nothing. Molag Bal. Nothing. He runs out into the main room of the temple and tries to shake one of the priests awake. OOC:Im assuming that this is a regular copy of The Book of Daedra. Not some odd-omenish one. If it isn't, diregard the top part. ;) And do you have something against Hlaalu?
thanateros
Addressing Alenee and BrockJust as you start to appeal to the crowd several arrows whiz towards you, one vears off down the street and the other hits you square in the chest. Luckily the armor doesn't break, you know if it had you'd be dead. The mod, not really caring for what you have to say still marches towards the Manor. From the shadows of two alleys the Hlaalu Guards begin cutting people down at the back of the mob, which you can distinctly see under the lamp light. As more fall to arrows at the front the mob becomes frantic and starts to charge away from the Manor. Rushing in from the sides more guards start to massacre the unsuspecting fodder. Two guards spot you both watching this and advance towards you at an amazing speed, too fast, you think, for that kind of armor. With their swords raised they blair, "YOU SHALL MEET HIM SOON ENOUGH" Addressing AvelynAs you try to shake the priest awake a sudden jolt of energy rushes through the limp bodies. In unison they slowly rise, zombie-like, and gather in a circle with you in the center. They at last open their eyes; they are completely white save for a slight purple hue around the edges. Actaully, upon further inspection, you can tell they are glowing with the same tint as the sky. Again, in unison they declare, "he shall not be named lord of Vvardenfell, we are her knights and eyes. Death to them." From all parts of their bodies black tentacles burst through their skin. Wriggling wildly the tentacles wrap themselves around the possessed seven priests. After several moments the tentacles fuse together and the form of the most magnificent armor you have ever laid eyes on takes form. All of it is a sleek black, almost obsidian interlaced with dark purple barbed patterns. The pauldrons resemble glass without the glass inserted. The gauntlets look like bonemold but the spike is more of a triangle instead of flat. Their cuirasses look like a netch leather shape and so to the greaves. The boots resemble something Daedric, but more of a close fit on the leg. Drawing what appear to be straight katanas, only wider, in single file they march away from where you are and towards the front of the temple. They chant, "we are Her eyes, her will is ours. We will justice, therefore it will be."
wesaynothin
Avelyn looks around frantically. Once again proving he more appearent hate of windows, he jumps through one to escape the temple. Avelyn rushes in a frantic state anywhere. Suddenly he sees before him two of the people he met on the road, wtih guards rushing towards them "Watch out!!!" Avelyn yells at them. OOC:Thanateros, is there something you need to tell us? First you flash people, now your making squid-priests..... Something wrong?
