Custom leather armor

Could anyone please make a mod that basically just copies the existing leather armor (thief) and makes it it's own armor so I could go in and edit the variables for and place it ingame? I would do it myself, but the .nif and the .dds files for it seem to be somewhere else. Also, its for a female character.

Or you could just tell me exactly where to find the files. I think I know where they are, but I'm not really sure how to extract them safely without messing something up.

The meshes are in the Oblivion/meshes.bsa file, you can unpack them using OBMM. The (Icon) textures are in the Textures-compressed.bsa file. Besides, if you don't want to alter the mesh, but only change the stats, you can right-click on the leather armor items in the CS and then click duplicate. everything, including the mesh and texture paths are correct, and you can change the stats to whatever you want.

oh okay, I didn't see the duplicate button. Thats pretty much exactly what I wanted to do. I just didn't want to alter the original armor itself, I don't want people walking around in leather as good as I want mine, lol.

EDIT: I still can't find the duplicate button. I'm right clicking the armor and here's what comes up:

New

Edit

Delete

Toggle quest object

Use Info

Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: Okay found duplicate, but I can't get it to work. For example, duplicate is ctrl+D, I highlight the object I want to duplicate, press ctrl+D and then use "paste in place" ctrl+shift+V, and nothing happens.

Click edit, and change the ID at the top left of the pane to something unique. Then click okay, and create a new object.

THANK YOU! oh my god lol, couldn't have been simpler. No wonder I didn't know how to do it, I never notice things that are this obvious.

Now that I made it, I need to figure out how to put it in the game, besides bringing up the CS ingame and entering the item info. Which I can't even do because it says "invalid object for parameter ObjectID"

Gah I suck at this.

EDIT: nevermind, I figured it out. I just put them in a container.

you can also drag and drop them into a random place

I would also do that, but for some reason my render window never loads. I'm more used to morrowind's CS
