sibbhult
Hello! So, this is my first post here... I have been downloading and testing various mods, and I felt that since the Agent Armor was done, I just had to explain my idea to someone. It is just an idea, and I know that it would be complicated and time-absorbing. I just had to get the idea from my head! So I loved to play the class of "Agent", I felt it was a shame that all you could do was rollplaying, like doing the umbaccano quests and the thieves guild. I still wanted something more, more neutral and dedicated to the idea of "Agent". I do not have modding-skills yet, but I migth start to learn via the tutorials ect. I have already learned to employ various musical-production programs and I produce electronic music. Migth just make this instead! I LOVE intrigues!! So here I put my resumated text of ideas: Project Agent. Consept: To make a quest about agents & spies including a new faction, NPC's, new clutter & quests. Ideas: Steal project plans, papers sabotage & manipulation. Political of such. Screw the mages guild, slow down the fighters guild projects. Work for the counts & countess. Counter-spionage ect. Report, infiltrate. Live in a city and study someone or something.Murdering? Not too much, not the Dark Brotherhood. Guild Idealism? Give the player identity-feeling towards the agency/order so it will be fun to play, like shoulderpads with the logo of the order or whatever. The White Hand Order? Purely economic, not worshipping sithis or something like that. More like economical profit. Maybe some kind of order where you sit in meetings with hoods & stuff (Like that Simpsons-episode where Homer is in that Order, if you remember?). How devoted are their members? Are they just stealthy mercenaries that collects gold, or are some of them brainwashed? A bit office-ambient. Would love to see a NPC-scientist wielding the Dwemer Alchemist Spectacles, a smiling crazy scientist. 1 NPC selling perhaps poison, another one sells dark clothing? NPC that for a price, gives you the full map of castles & guildhalls, like removing the map-fog of certain places as if you had already been there, possible? Semi-obscure ambient in the guild halls? Headquarters.. What kind of NPCs would be part of the Agency/Order ect? Diferent individuals. 1 Mata Hari- Caracter. What kind of relationship would YOU have to each of the NPC's? Get contracts by the vanilla knight orders, or work against them. Something between Dark Brotherhood, Figthers Guild & Thieves Guild. Idea: Create objects like sellable clutter that could be found at the guild-halls for stealing (Battleplans, employee-list, income list ect.). Diferent papers or scrolls, the higher prices. To sell to counts. Example: Bruma economic plans. 50 gold Cheydinhal army schematics: 40 gold Bravil Castle map or something : 30 gold. Order of The White Stallion strategic positions: 70 gold. Ranking built on reputation as an agent? The higher you get the more… what? REALISTIC AGENT-WORK & IMERSION. I want no super hyper agent of death killing everything in a single blow or whatever. Medieval ambient? Initiation test? How to get contacted by the guild/order/agency? What kind of ambient would be found in the guild halls? Dark, good or evilish feeling? I would like it to be neutral, semi-cuestionable methods to archive goals. Imersion: You cannot be part of the Agency if youre to famous? Undercoverstuff. Quest-type ideas: You have to go to a camp and kill all the spies.Go to city & locate a spy & eliminate him (For example spies from Morrowind, the Houses). Kill Dark Brotherhood agents, or perhaps, rearrange the contracts with a speaker? Recruit certain individuals. Give reports about current agents, if they are alive. Go and meet certain agent to collect the information, a bit like the Glarthir-quest, just that it would be real. Use your charm to get closer relationship with counts or countesses, and then rip them off perhaps? It is a long text, and I dont know if this will be done ever. If there is a questline, then it should be exiting & inspiring to keep playing... Well, I am not sure I can take the responsbility of such project as I am no Einstein for so say it. But perhaps someone has a diferent perspective and a diferent view!!
larsr93
Dude, that would be totally AWESOME! I love DB, but just murdering and worshiping sithis are the two parts that made it not so cool. The thing about stealing and murdering for the highest bidder would be really awesome ^_^

The thing about stealing and murdering for the highest bidder would be really awesome ^_^ Word! Although I dont think anyone's gonna pick it up... I would love to see it happening. I am going to do an effort of making this mod myself, even if I have no experience in modding, exept for that one quest I did for Age of Empires 2... lol! I wont give up that's for sure! I am extremly determined, or how you spell it. I have the plan in my brain waiting for popping out! If anyone are interested in doing it, then you're welcome!! Jamisicus6
If I get some time this weekend I will have a go at a preliminary mission for it (first mission etc.) Other than that I think this is a really good idea and I will try to keep in with this project. Unfortunately, this might need some Voice acting, which I physically cannot do due to not having any kind of Microphone.
Lord Jefferson
This sound like a good idea looking foward to see how it turns out for you.

Unfortunately, this might need some Voice acting, which I physically cannot do due to not having any kind of Microphone. OH YEAH!! Now that's what im talking about!! Let's make a cool mod! I will try & come up with some story line, and you are all welcome to throw in ideas for it, whatever you want, and hopefully we can all enjoy a cooperated fun mod. As for the Morrowind-thing with the blades, I dont know as I have never played Morrowind. I still like when things are lore-friendly in a way or to. As for this, I was thinking of something new. Ok, it has probably already been thought about and done somewhere, but not like this I think. The idea...: I was thinking about something like the CIA, kind of. I had not thougth about if it could be founded by the emperor, as it could be an extension of the blades. If so, it could feature Ninjas a la akaviri-style... althou I am pretty tired of ninjas. If we make it an indepentent organization, not guvermental, then the jobs can be pretty variated. Also a possible counter-organization. Kill or persuade their agents! Steal sensitive information! I still think we should be realistic & keep it pretty simple. It does not have to be a super huge mod like illianas elsweyr or the spires. Just some voice acting can make it 10 times more fun to play. We can also make like 4 small agencies factions, with their on logo and own HQ. I dont think that just being paid in plain cash is fun in the length. Ok, it motivates a bit, but most players have like 10.000.000 septims and dont really care about it. I am going to melt this information and hope that this can be enjoyable to everyone! EDIT: I have made a building that lies in Skingrad South-West to serve as a HQ. I have put it in a corner and i does not conflict with any of my large number of mods.
xxfmanxx
This is good idea, if you want you can use my "agent class gear". i could make more versions in different colors, for different ranks, and add logos, just tell me what logo do you want. That is exactly what I was hoping! It would be great! So... we are juggling with alot of stuff here: Modders, quests and the idea. Let's see what happens. I am still learning about how to make quests, then I can see what is possible and what's not. And here you got a pic of what could be a headquarters in the Skingrad SW (Attached)... Banana125
Hm...this sounds like it would be an amazing mod if it gets fully realized, or even just mostly realized. Since my modding skills are basically nil (I could maybe do cell design with the right tools, but that's it- no scripting or anything else, I only just got started doing any CS work a few weeks back), all I can do is throw out a list of ideas and hope some of them end up being helpful. As far as organization of the group would go, there seem to be two paths to go down- a single, organized entity, a la Dark Brotherhood or Blades, or multiple splintered factions working out of their own locations, a la spies for each count/countess/extremely wealthy person/business/etc. I would imagine that the latter would make for a much more interesting storyline/gameplay element but would probably make it substantially harder/more arduous to create the full mod. I'll go ahead and throw out some ideas for both, though. Single OrganizationStructureProbably a standard pyramid hierarchy. Top figure is extremely skilled, extremely cunning, etc etc. Given the nature of the organization it could probably be done that he/she would be a very prominent public figure, maybe a politician or just very rich. This would allow them to get close to people and information without attracting suspicion or putting themselves at any risk. Second tier has maybe two people who are trusted with the deeper secrets of the organization, where the most critical rest only with the top figurehead (after all, only one person can keep a secret. Or two if one's dead. Or three if two are dead. And so on). Third tier has high-level agents, fourth has mid-level/semi-experienced, fifth has initiate agents, sixth is "informants" or "grunts" who basically do fetch work in preparation for any activities, while still receiving faction benefits to keep them happy. Also maybe James Bond could be the head of the organization. Just a thought. Probably there would be a very buddy-like relationship between the top two, maybe three tiers and definitely within the high-ranking agent tier. Maybe they have parties at someone's house every so often or go grab a drink or go hunting together or something. MembershipTwo kinds of people- the highly skilled and highly disciplined people looking for money, who also happen to cast their alliance fullfledged with the faction, and people just looking for a little work that helps screw someone over (respectively, those would be the higher- and lower-ranking members). Definitely hire some mages/scientists/researchers/etc to help develop new magic/technology/whatever to make the job easier. Also have not quite a spy network but an information network much like the beggars for the Thieves Guild. A mix of poor(er), well-off, and wealthy people who variously are taking money for their position, or are ex-turncoats or whatever who were hunted down and threatened that X would happen to them if they didn't act as an informant. Agents have two methods of operation- the "in broad daylight" kind, where they're not hiding in the shadows but no one knows they're part of this organization, like the idea I threw out for the leader, and "in the shadows", where they're very well-hidden, like Julian Assange or the Grey Fox. HQProbably some non-descript building, maybe with a hidden doorway to an underground compound or something that acts as their HQ. Have an agent living in the building and only let the player/other NPCs in when they use the right passphrase- maybe something innocuous like "I like the suit, did you get it at (store name)?" and some followup phrase just in case someone accidentally stumbled upon the first one, like maybe "Oh hey did you hear about the World Cup?" after the NPC responds to the previous one or something. I'd say the ambient/atmosphere/feeling of the place should be office-like. Not dark/evil, not shiningly good, but just kind of neutral. Quests/missionsTo throw out some ideas- maybe you have to make a copy of some plans for a new building (prison? Just in case an operative gets arrested) from the Elder Council's hired civil engineer. Or get a new spell's instructions from the Mages' Guild/Arcane University. Maybe you have to break into the Fighters' Guild and replace a mission location so as to make them pass by a dangerous locale where they'd be ambushed and suffer heavy losses, at the very least monetary ones. Definitely some actual spy work- find the whereabouts of X count/countess, find out if they're planning any sort of insurrection, etc and supply the information to whomever so they either put down the rebellion or take it out before it starts or join. Some sabotage to lead troublesome TG members into an imperial watch trap for sure, too. And the classic "bust your buddy out of prison". If you're head of one of the guilds that's being targeted, you could have a choice- either make your job easy as all hell and just get whatever it is on authority of "I'm the guildmaster, suck it", or tell them that the mission is too dangerous for you (if it would actually be a dangerous mission) and then discreeetly drop the notice for some of your peeps to be stationed when another spy shows up to try and do the job. Or if you're very high ranking but not the head, you could have more or less the same choice but you instead tip off the guildmaster. And hope they're not also a spy. Ooh ooh, definitely an abduction/interrogation mission in there somewhere. MiscellaneousMaybe have a few missions against other guilds and a non-friendly rivalry with the Thieves Guild? After all, they're the only other group that would have similar/the same kinds of missions as the spy faction, but the TG only targets the rich for the benefit of the poor. The spy faction sounds like it targets anyone for the right price for any client. Multiple FactionsStructureEach count/countess has some spies working for them. The Elder Council/Emperor (were the emperor not dead) would have a larger group of spies, similar to the blades, but much more espionage/reconnaissance oriented than the blades, who are more combat-oriented. There might be a group of freelance ones who are much, much smaller than they would be under the single organization structure. Maybe have a single head spy for each faction and maybe one or two "right-hand spies". Town-specific gear, most likely. MembershipPeople already in the count/countess's/emperor's employ who demonstrated exceptional talent in being a spy/agent/whatever. HQsA relatively hidden room in each castle, known only to the count/countess/emperor/elder council and the spies of that town themselves. The player, of course, could find it if they were determined enough. Smaler than the HQ would be under the one organization system and fewer members per faction. Quests/missionsMore "legal" than the one organization scheme's missions would tend to be. More recon on the civilian populace for possible insurrection, more interrogations, etc. BUT, also, the chance to defy orders that are blatantly corrupt/illegal that come from the count/countess/etc. Or the chance to take them on- sabotaging another city (maybe clogging up their sewers or something), obstructing imperial or guild operations, etc. And being a more well-known organization, they could always do the practical jokes when the occasion arises- putting a frog in the countess's pillow, abducting people to surprise parties, etc. You could definitely have more silly fun this way than with the one organization scheme. MiscellaneousThe player could only join one of the cities' spy factions, but they would all have the same quests- find X and interrogate them about a possible rebellion, keep an eye on local guilds, protect the count/conutess from DB assassination attempts, etc. After a while the player would be recognized by the imperial spy faction and suggested as a candidate for induction to the Elder Council. Then the player would have more serious missions, like infiltrating criminal syndicates and sabotaging them, providing the Blades with information to defend/government/maybe other cities/settlements/etc. Maybe the player could even work with the Blades on a few missions where they're a few men short. Maybe the final few missions would involve getting rid of the troublesome mercenary spy guild. If I get any more ideas I'll be sure to share them. Man, if I had any real modding skill I'd be more than happy to help with this, but sadly this is all I can contribute. Hopefully some more skilled members will take notice and lend a hand! :)
