Texture won't appear on custom moels

I'm having trouble with textures on my custom oblivion models. I followed the tutorial here

but the texture of the box is very dark, almost completely black in the game. I can also walk right through the box. I'd get a screenshot but I cant seem to do that

 

Anybody know whats wrong, or can point me to a better tutorial (not the ones on the TESCS wiki, they have no pictures! what kind of tutorial comes without pictures, i ask you. Also they're pretty vague and unhelpful when it comes to 3Ds Max tutorials)

Find the normalmap tutorial on the CS Wiki. No worries, it has pictures. A Normal Map is a special texture that designates certain parts of the model to pop out more, like a bump map.
