gallagtor
Hi, I read on this site in the unofficial FAQ that it was possible. How does one go about doing this? thanks.
Switch
As I recall it works the same way as it did in Morrowind. Go to C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Music (by default), and there should be folders there named Explore, Battle, etc. Just rename your mp3s to the names of the files in those folders and overwrite them. That should work.
gallagtor
Oh, I see. That seems easy enough. I'm going to back up the old MP3s just in case. Thanks Switch. Does anybody know if the mp3s that play are random or if certain ones play while in certain cities, etc.? It would be nice to put some use to my Lord of the Rings soundtrack, and I know the perfect track for the background music while in Oblivion. Switch
You're welcome. ^^ They play at random from the selections in each of the folders, I think. So in town it'll select anything from Public\town_01.mp3 to town_05.mp3. I believe Oblivion uses the Dungeon soundtracks, so you could always just keep one mp3 in that folder and make it your LotR one. However, you'd end up hearing the same stuff in dungeons as well.
