Oblivion crashes before title screen

Oblivion is crashing before it gets to the title screen. If I only have the official plugins it loads fine, Some but not all mods cause it to crash. I believe only mods that have more than esp and/or bsa are causing the crash.

I have disabled the .bik files that play and have set all oblivion obse and obmm executables to run as admin.

umm oblivion.esm should always be first from as far as i can tell, and do you have none of the patches for the official plugins? and obmm should always be run as an admin

Why did you disable the BIK files? Do you use BOSS? Could you activate everything you have installed, run BOSS on it, and post the log file here? Try out the sorted load order too.

I disabled the .bik's because I read on UESP that they sometimes they get corrupted and can cause this behavior.

I ran boss but i dont have bash.

you aren't using Blood&Mud so the game is crashing because of a missing master.

Remove that plugin, and use the following to help put those "Unknowns" in a more appropriate position in your load order: LO Template.

I tried removing open cities and it components, didn't help. Then I installed mud and blood and tried with it enabled, still no go.

Uninstall those mods at the end for now. Install Wrye Bash and see if anything shows up red or orange. In fact, after you install Wrye Bash, post your load order through Wrye Bash.

isn't the basic blood&mud esp

 

its a side esp for open cities

 

and bet it needs the real Blood&Mud

 

 

 

so that implies you are still missing the esp with the full name "Bravil Blood&Mud.esp"

I have used B&M for over a year, maybe two now. The full name is Blood&Mud.esp. The Bash LO will tell all about the delinquent and/or missing masters. That's what I want to see...
