Oblivion works fine in Win7. I, as well as many others have commented on it actually being more stable than XP for playing it. You will still get crashes, but should not get more than with XP.

If you upgraded any parts, especially the video card, you should first regen your Oblivion.ini file. It is based on the computer hardware that was there when the game was installed, and does not automatically recognize new stuff. - just rename it DON"T make the mistake of deleting it. Then start the game and it will create a new one based on any new hardware you have installed.

Are you using vanilla Oblivion or do you have mods? If you are not using mods, could you please post your Dxdiag? If you are using mods, could you post both your Dxdiag and your load order? Please, use spoiler tags.

Instructions for all found here - http://tesivpositive.animolious.com/index.php?page=know_how_to

I will say right now: Do not use WeOCPS unless you are sure it is fixing something, and try to fix your problems, before installing it. It may cover up crashes that are otherwise fixable, and people certainly can run stable modified games without it.

sounds like the game worked fine under XP

then he changed to Win7

so

the game is now under the complete and aboslute domination of UAC.

If he were to move the game outside of the programs directory

UAC would be out of the picture

and things should return to normal.

BTW, after moving the game, re-install your mods to bring back the parts that UAC banished.
