AspenR
So I just bought myself a nice house in Cheydinhal. The only problem is, I want to be able to decorate it in fun ways--alchemy ingredients, books in the bookshelves, clothes on top of dressers, etc. I keep trying to put things on various surfaces like you could in Morrowind, but anytime I try that the object flies 5 feet into the air and lands loudly in the ground. (This also applies to stuff I may pick up when sneaking around which make loud noises that alert guards when put back.) Is there any way to decorate like that or am I stuck with empty bookshelves for the rest of my life?
Mercbird
Decorating in oblivion is going to be ... painfull. I have managed to stack a couple books into a bookshelf by having my character walk slooowly and and using very very slow movements, and after a while you kinda get the hang off it.Still every time I walk past the bookshelf or bump it accidentally it all comes down.I eventually found it easier to create a small mod and decorate in the cs that I plug in after I bought the house. Makes it easier.

Setsuei
There is a book-placing mod which at least makes it easier to get books into book-shelves, you could give it a try. Search for it on TESSource
AspenR
Thanks y'all. I'll definitely look for that mod, and otherwise... practise makes perfect, I guess.
