SunderedChaos
It's pissing me off. Like, screaming at my computer pissed off. His new mod requires that you enter a key into the ini file first before it will run. I've read through the whole damn read me 3 times. There's either no key, or it is inconspicuous enough that somebody who's read through it several times cannot notice it. It's ridiculous. Not to mention, the readme is long, and there is no specification of where in the readme it is. I've read through the whole thing three times, which has taken about 45 minutes, and honestly I'm too fatigued from reading that damn much over and over to feel like looking any more, to not even find it. Has anybody else downloaded this mod, and if so, do you know the key? I'm not looking any more. If noone's able to tell me, I'm probably just going to end up deleting the mod. What a waste, especially over something so stupid.
Megatarius
I tried to download that mod and there's no file. He must have taken it down temporarily to work on it. So maybe your problem will be fixed. Maybe he saw your post.
SunderedChaos
I tried to download that mod and there's no file. He must have taken it down temporarily to work on it. So maybe your problem will be fixed. Maybe he saw your post. It's not up on tesnexus, you have to download it from the mirror. I swear, when you play the game it says that you have to read the readme for the mod to work, and that somewhere in the readme is the code that you have to enter. I cannot find this code. I have read and reread the readme, and I do not see any code. I have all the files. In order to get the mod to work, all I have to do is type the code into the ini file. I just can't figure out what it is!
Povuholo
It's very hard to find indeed. If you've already read the readme so you know everything you need to know I suppose there's no harm in telling. I also found it difficult to find. The code is 333.

I don't wanna say anything more because I'm sure DP made it intentionally difficult to find and I respect that. The key IS in there, though, as of right now (around 3pm eastern July 4) -- it's possible maybe it wasn't in there before by mistake, when you downloaded it. majikmonkee
A mod that requires a key to run it? That sounds a little odd, I can see doing that with retail games as some sort of copy protection, but mods?
Megatarius
I found the code, but I'm not at home, so I can't look. Take a deep breath and read over it again. I'll give you a hint (because I can't remember any more): There is a place about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through the readme, where he interrupts mid-sentence to say the code. However, t h e s p a c i n g i n t h a t s e n t e n c e i s l i k e t h i s. I agree it's stupid. I know why he did it, but I don't respect it. It causes frustration with too many people. He did it because he's sick of people emailing him about so-called "problems" with the mod when they aren't actually problems. If people actually read the readme, he contends, they would understand that. The problem with this kind of thinking is that some people, like me, can't maintain concentration that long when it's on a screen. If I was to read it in a book, I would absorb it instantly, but reading it on a screen starts to make my head hurt after a while. This is probably why a lot of people don't read readmes. Therefore, knowing the instructions for the mod while looking for the way to activate it.
