Using Cloneform and then removing an ESP

GrailQuest

Recommended Posts

(1) Suppose I had, say, Apachii Heroes installed.

(2) Then I buy something from the store and enchant it, or use some kind of mod which results in the item being cloned in-game. RefScope will now show the item as being defined in the SaveGame instead of an ESM or ESP.

(3) Now, I uncheck the ESP (e.g., to make room in my load queue, or so I won't have the extra Apachii Heroes building in County Bruma), BUT I do NOT remove the supporting Data files (e.g., meshes and textures).

Will the cloned item supposedly defined in the save game work properly and safely? Are there foreseable bad results / game corruption in doing this?

You may lose the enchantment, and the item may not show up at all, depending on the mod you use.Why don't you just create your own item in the CS using the Apachii meshes and textures and place it in Weynon Priory Chapel. If it has an esp, it will (usually) stay in game and keep any enchantment it already has.Unless you are hitting the 250 mods active limit, You could move the activators for the entrance to the store inside the testinghall, and not use any exterior at all. There is a whole wall of doors for this purpose inside the testinghall, and six unused doors inside the center pier.P.S. I would like to tell you how to do this myself, but I would have to learn how to do it with a good tutorial first.

It will disappear. Something worse could happen though, but I will not go into those details. They would not be helpful. The cloned item is an instance of an object tied to the formID of a record in that plugin. If the plugin goes the ref goes (or the worse thing happens.)
