moxica
Can you delete your own custom races?I have a bunch of failed efforts and would like to dump them, but it doesn't seem that it's possible. I click and press delete and they are still there. The problem are the ones that I made as copies of other races. I eventually learned that it's better to make a new race because you can just delete the esp. Do I need to uninstall everything and re-install my game clean? Genzel
Are the races on seperate .esp s, or is your Oblivion file actually edited with your custom races? If it is the latter, you have some problems..
moxica
I have both. The ones with the esp's are no problem. I just delete the esp. The ones that I'm stuck with are the ones that are copies of other races instead of creating them from scratch as a new race. A lot of them are variations of other mods. I didn't know how to create a new race and take what I needed from the files, so I just made copies with slight changes in stats and spells. I've already decided to remove oblivion and all mods and re-install and rebuild it the way I need to, since I don't have any high level characters right now. It needs cleaning up! Thanks for responding!
Tomlong54210
Why does this call for a reinstall, and what are you using to do the deletions?
SavageArtistry
If you want to edit races out of an existing .esp file, all you have to do is select them before loading and hit delete, then load your .esp and save it. This tutorial explains about cleaning unwanted things from mods and it's pretty easy to do with races/hair/eyes. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Mod_Cleaning_Tutorial
Tomlong54210
Just delete the records with TES4Edit. 1) Launch TES4Edit.2) Make sure the plugin in question is selected.3) Expand the plugin's top level options after TES4Edit loads.4) Expand RACE.5) Highlight the target races.6) Right-click on the selections.7) Choose delete.8) Exit and make sure the edited plugin is selected to be saved.>> notes: 1) TES4Edit automatically creates backups of edited plugins in the Data folder, with the date of the edit attached to the end. 2) You can use SHIFT and CTRL to do multi-select. moxica
Thank you guys very much!I doesn't call for a reinstall, it's just that I have a lot of clutter in my game. I have mods that I never use, mods that aren't in the correct load order and mods that are conflicting with each other, in addition to the unwanted race mods that i made.It was just time to rework the whole set up.I'm almost done adding all the mods that I like so it wasn't too hard.Thank you for that tutorial and for Tes4edit info. If I ever run into a problem again, I know exactly what to do and how to do it. Thanks again!!
