Has anyone ever seen the megaton mansion mod, by krazykommy. Well i have it, but id like to add on to it. Definatley my favourite mod.

I watched a couple of beginner tutorials on youtube, and tried a bit of experimenting with weapons in the GECK, but i want to try an official first project. Someone who has modded before could you tell me if this would be to complicated for a first mod.

on top of the megaton mansion, i want to make a tower. Not a ridiculously high tower, maybe a story or two above the house. I want it to be part of megaton so that when you go inside the tower, it doesnt need to load, (part of the megaton cell) there would be a few lockers, ammo containers and stuff like that. But while I know how to edit a weapons traits and add it to the game, i dont know how to add item.

To the point:

#1 Is this a simple enough first project?

#2 How do I even do this. Im just looking for basic instructions on how to add objects to existing places in fallout. I know im not suppossed to ask for step by step instructions, but im completely lost on how to do this. I dont want to be spoon fed the instructions. I Just want to know how to place objects in megaton.

PS: sorry for all the writing i could have just asked: how do you build a tower in megaton? but that wouldnt sound right would it, besides i find it better to explain my self so hopefully not get confused.

1. Sounds simple to me, it's just basic object placement and maybe connecting doors.

2. To place an object into the world, left click and drag it from the object window (On the left)to the render window. Then it'll appear in the render window as an object you can move, rotate, and scale.

Can't Load multiple masters? Go to:

Documents\My Games\Fallout3\GECKCustom.ini

edit the line and set

bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1

Then you can load multiple masters.

You'd most likely want to make your mod a child of the megaton mansion mod.

.dds files are the textures. Models are .nif files. For your own use, using a resource from another game is fine, but the developers frown on this if you plan to release it and the Nexus will pull your file if it is deemed to be infringing on copy-rights. Other sites may be more tolerant.

i know about the copyright thing, i already sent an email to nexon asking if i could use their models (combat arms is a pretty dull game but theres a lot of guns) What if i use models from modern warfare 2 or cod 4? and then release them on this site. If i could get a friend to do it, is that ok as well?

If you upload it, it will probably get removed. You can always use a different fallout modding site though.

Ripping textures for personal/private use if perfectly fine.

If i were to have nexon's or infinity ward's permission would i be able to?
