Grimmjow0006 Posted July 5, 2010 Share Posted July 5, 2010 I mean like changed the game completely. I keep hearing these projects that always stay unfinished. One was a Steampunk mod that I had high hopes for. Another was a bleach mod that I have no idea how to find it. They wanted to change the whole world so it's like a different story and environment. Because in a new game you make things the way they should be for the new game and do not have to take out all of the stuff that is already there for the overhaul. Most overhaul attempts are far too ambitious they try to do too much at at once. If they would concentrate on a small piece, get it done, release it to see how it looks to the users, Then another piece they could grow the overhaul one small mod at a time. Dyshein Posted July 5, 2010 Share Posted July 5, 2010 Yeah, I tend to agree, I think it's cool that some people try to make futuristic mods for oblivion, but If you're gonna go that far away from the setting you might as well either build your own engine or mod a game like Fallout or half life 2 that has at least similiar settings. The only overhaul I know is that german one (not translated into English yet) and it's still a medevil setting. The name is Nehrim if you want to search for it. Sorry for asking the same question. The same thing happened to me for a skinning project. I guess when you're trying to redo a whole game it seems like the reason for doing it isn't worth it. I've seen many people try to do whole projects that would replace a game or change it completely but they never finish. I tried skinning PSOBB but there was so many files to skin that I didn't feel like completing it. Not like I was getting paid. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Try to release it in parts so you don't get tired. It's better to get feedback on parts so you know that you are accomplishing something. Doing it all at once will make you feel like nobody cares.
