Hailbringer2
Just curious as I have a decent list of plug-ins for skyrim. Some of them conflicting and I have to uninstall and i'm not all too familiar with but I believe I have them in order (especially using BOSS) that they all work fine. Would it also depend on the type of computer I am using too?
rbc1989
I usually try to limit my mods per playthrough to around 60.(Not including graphical mods.) Any more than that and my save will usually end up corrupting after 90 hours or so. You may also want to consider using LOOT which replaced BOSS. http://loot.github.io/ Edited October 7, 2014 by rbc1989
Hailbringer2
Thank you! this may help tremendously as I was having a lot of start-up crashes and it was hard to find in all the fine print of posts what load-orders I should take with all of my mods
bben46
The hard limit is 255. But some mods can be merged to keep the total below this number. However the actual number will depend on how powerful your computer is and the specific mods you use - some mods use up more resources than others and no matter how powerful your computer is there are limits to what the game engine can actually handle. A lot of graphic intensive mods can cause slow down ( drop in fps due to limit of graphics capaility) while a lot of script heavy mods will bog down the CPU. Hailbringer2
Yeah, thanks bben, I just wasn't sure if SKSE Skyrim would crash because of a mod limit, I took the precaution of lowering my graphics and installing some very specific but helpful performance mods, cutting down on textures but keeping it looking the same :D. Thank you though guys, I do get some random crashes but I believe this is just Skyrim... i'm used to it, Xbox does it way too much so it's not much of a bother... lol. Although I do get FPS drops in some snow and rain I think i've got it down to the min. with what i'm running.
