Jarfer
Let's say I installed every expansion at once and entered the game. Would I automatically see significant gameplay changes and be able to travel to these additional far off lands and interact with the new characters, even if I just started playing anew? Or would I need to finish the "Main Storyline" to access the rest of the expansions? (Yeah I just started playing FO3 three days ago... love it! Played it a whole day actually, learned the ropes super fast.)
pkleiss
Only one DLC requires that you finish the main story line fist. OA, I think. The rest just add some way to find them into the wasteland. So you could just go to them right away.
paroxysm
To be slightly more exact, Broken Steel is the only expansion that requires the main story finished, mainly because it's just a continuation. Operation Anchorage requires nothing, as you hear their broadcast at the start when you exit the vault. The rest you can do anytime.
pkleiss
Okay, there you have it. I knew it was either OA or BS, but not having played either yet, I was guessing. Oops.
Phalanx21
Yeah you can only start BS once you finish the main storyline.
