  1. Well, mate, chances are the problems you're having *are* with your mods. Make a list of the essentials (look at the list in FOMM) and just redownload after the reinstall.
  2. Ah. You mean 1022 MB of RAM. That's not nearly, realistically, enough.
  3. This sounds remarkably like renaissance Anchorage. :P Unfortunately, I am completely unskilled in modding the game, so I can't really help you. This forum is a good place to ask, though.
  4. Actually, I sorted out my problem (I had a multicore system, forgot to edit fallout.ini), and it's now running beautifully on my W7x64.
  5. Doing that is sure to cause all sorts of errors with the notoriously-finicky Fallout. I would suggest copypasting your Data folder onto a flash drive, separate hard drive, etc, and just reinstalling the game, then putting the Data folder back in its proper place.
  6. You probably deleted the folders INSIDE the Data folder and left the DLC files - that's a bad thing. The only way to recover it is to reinstall.
  7. Never mind, I've got it fixed. It was a multi-core issue.
  8. Once again, this is what it said in normal-text: Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 CPU M 460 @ 2.53GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz Memory: 6144MB RAM Available OS Memory: 6006MB RAM Page File: 1804MB used, 10207MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 32bit Unicode
  9. Er, that's just a mess of html tags. EDIT: I ran it through my html editor, and it appears to just restate my specs.
  10. I had the same problem, tried what you said, and it gave me some nonsense about DDRAW.dll. Could you provide more information?
  11. I'd like to see one set in San Francisco. Now that I think about it, London (my hometown) would also be a very interesting place for a setting.
  12. I posted here about... four months ago, lost the link to my thread, completely forgot. Anyway, I recently purchased a new computer, with Windows 7, and decided to buy the GOTY just because it was all-in-one, fully patched, etcetera, and it just seemed easier. It has given me nothing but problems. I installed, did no mods, did EXACTLY NOTHING, ran the game, and it froze. I got about thirty seconds into the birth scene before it froze. I've had this the last time I tried installation - it varied, from thirty seconds to almost ten minutes before the crash. 13. Well, I recently purchased a new laptop after my old one literally caught fire (bit of a long story), and it came with Windows 7 64-bit. I had lost my original FO3 discs, so I went ahead and purchased the GOTY edition. One exceptionally long install later, I'm running the game, going through the birth sequence and... freeze. The background and, sometimes, the dialogue continues, but the picture freezes and I can't even hit escape and pause. I'm forced to Ctrl-Alt-Del and end the process. Thing is, it doesn't always stop at the same place. I've tried like ten times, and sometimes I get through the birth sequence, only to have it freeze during the birthday party, or somewhere else. Is this common, and, if so, is there a solution? Cheers paroxysm
  14. Right then. That worked! I think everything's worked out now... once again, thanks!
  15. AAAAAND now it crashes when I leave the tunnel (through any entrance).
  16. I killed myself, and it just loaded the last save. No change. I used 'coc' and... it teleported me directly to the base of the ladder, where I was trapped before. Finally (and this is the strangest one), I clipped into the White House, used the Utility door, and... it teleported me directly to the base of the ladder. Something's telling me that this whole cell is glitched.
  17. I surely didn't intend to sound nippy. Anyway, yes, I can climb back up to the plaza. I'll try 'pcb' both down there and in the plaza. Also, yes, I have tried an earlier save. Still no dice. Screenshot on photobucket (large image): http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz87/paroxysm_photo/fallout-issue.png EDIT: 'pcb' did not work.
  18. I can move in all directions a tiny bit, maybe a quarter of a step. I tried 'enableplayercontrols' anyway... no dice.
  19. Right. I 'disabled' the car, the motorcycle, and the other thirty or forty items that were EXACTLY where I was, plus most of the clutter, there is now absolutely nothing around me (except the ladder) and I'm still stuck in one place... I can move around a little bit but there's a clanging noise and tcl does nothing still.
  20. The title pretty much describes the problem. I've beat most of the main quest, now I just have to enter the Presidential Metro. I press 'e' at the sewer entrance and... i hear a lot of crashing. When the black fades away, it is revealed that I am inside a car, placed exactly at the bottom of the ladder. I cannot move, nor can I tcl out of it. Help?
  21. I'd love to be the Quest Designer, as I have extensive writing experience and have written quests for FO3 before. I warn you, I can't mod to save my life, but I can make up stories. Secondly, I could also Voice-Act. I have a natural North London RP accent, however, I can fake very good French accents, New Englander accents, Southern, and I've perfected the California/West Coast accent. LASTLY, I can also Beta-Test. I think that's it.
