Cannot get mods to work. ):

I installed the Cute Elves mod and the Corean Race mod, but neither work. I have clicked the box in the Data Files section, but that doesn't do anything. On the Character Creation screen, the races simply don't show up.

 

Anyone know how I can fix this?

1. Check your game version. Recent mods require game version 1.2.x. Some mod may require Shivering Isles as well.

2. Check your OS. If you're using Windows Vista or 7, installing the game in default place is not so good idea.

1. The version number is displayed at the bottom of the screen when you launch the game. If it is not 1.2.0416, install the latest official patch relevant to your setup: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm

2. If you are running Vista or Win7, installing the game to the default folder, Program Files, puts it under UAC protection. That can cause much trouble when dealing with mods. Therefore, in this case, you should reinstall the game to a folder you make directly on your hard drive, which would not be under UAC protection (i.e., C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks)
