syntho123
How would one go across making skins for Fallout 3. I want to make some for personal use. Don't worry bout me throwing useless skins that only I'm going to use onto the nexus. So how would I make skins? What programs will I need? (I already have VTFedit if that's needed) Also advice and tips would be welcome Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I just don't think it would fit anywhere else. Thanks in advance! falloutperson416
This topic should be in the General Modifiaction Talk section. To the point, Blender is a good tool to use for making custom meshes, but if you are looking to simply re texture and object (or make the skins) you might want to give Adobe Photoshop a try. You can download a 30 day free trial if your not willing to pay $700. Good luck with it, Falloutpeson416
syntho123
Would paint.net work? (If I get photoshop would I just import it?)
falloutperson416
Yes, all you need to do is import the data into photoshop, and you can then color that texture as you wish.
robibot
Oh and if you get any kind of photoshop Dont get the Cs5 one its a waste I recommend Photoshop 7.0, but well thats just my opinion >.>
Lurker101
If you do go the Photoshop route, you'll need to download the .dds plug-in from nVidia.
falloutperson416
Yes, the Nvidia plugin is needed for you to import the dds. texture files.
Rabbit1251
If you don't want to spring for PhotoShop you can try GIMP which is free and available on the Nexus. The "I hate the new layout" Rabbit
