Lcoruscate
Okay so I'm gonna start this off by saying, I am in no way tech-savvy. I wanted to try a newer oblivion experience after playing vanilla so many times. I've done some research and FCOM seems like a cool mod. I know it's big and requires a lot of downloading. What I'm looking for is a simple install guide and essentially for someone to "hold my hand" through the install. Thanks :)
Lcoruscate
Also I tried using NMM with OOO and I got a lot of issues so apparently I did something wrong. Since then I've uninstalled all my mods and oblivion. I re installed oblivion fresh and haven't done anything past that yet. If it matters, I am using steam
Guinefort1
Have you read the readme? If not, I suggest do you do; it should have very specific installation instructions. Judging from your post I would guess that you have never modded before? If so, I suggest that you acquire some sort of archive opening software like IZarc or Winrar, which will let you search and extract the archive where the readme will most likely be stored. If you already know about all that, sorry for beating a dead horse. This website may be able to help you: http://www.oblivionmodwiki.com/index.php/FCOM If this is not what you need, never fear. A google search will uncover all sorts of guides of varying specificity. Please bear in mind that I do not play overhaul mods like FCOM, so my advice should be taken with a grain of salt. If and when someone else shows up to offer better advice, it would be best to heed the words of wiser heads than mine.
LFact
No one would recommend NMM to install Oblivion mod, for many of such mods are old, and not packaged for NMM. Usually OBMM and Wrye Bash are recommended for installing and managing OB mods. And, for mod newbie, some large and compliacted mods are not something to be recommended, either.Start small, like installing simple house mod. Lcoruscate
I do have winrar installed currently. Thanks for the info on not using NMM I will try out Wyre. Also I have done some research but it usually leads to dated articles hence I used NMM. I am a complete noob and I'll try a simple mod first, see what happens. Any suggestions on which mod to start with? My goal is to *eventually* do FCOM because I've played oblivion multiple times even on the hardest difficulty and although I do LOVE this game, I want something new
