Help Debugging Scenes

Recommended Posts

Good luck then :P

Not going to look through that and try to decipher what you are trying but it is possible to add a start and end script to AI packages, therefore letting you dictate the time to start a scene, and forcestarting a scene from those scripts will override everything currently in play. Another way is to forcestart a scene and the first stage in a scene is one of the actors walking to the other and then the dialogue starts.

An easy way to test if it's the scene misfiring or you doing something wrong elsewhere is to create a trigger box that detects when the player anters and fires off a scene.

Also adding debug messages would help to determine if the scene is startign and just not working etc by adding them into the begin fragments in the scene

All of this is scratching the surface of how you could set this up, hence why it would be 100 times easier for me to do this over skype on a screenshare as opposed to typing every last bit of info etc, and it would be more comprehensive for you as you could ask questions in real time and get more direct information

So my very best advice is go to walmart, spend 16$ come back, add me on skype, get all your problems solved in a few hours :)

The CK can be a fickle b&@*$ from hell which is why I tend to not help through typing especially on something that can go wrong 150 different ways if you missed something.

Was helping the guy doing the shivering Isles yesterday and we had massive errors because he was using a pre-existing save, things that couldnt possibly be happening just due to a corrupt save file. So meh, take it or leave it I made the offer.

I would have to travel rather a distance to the nearest Walmart, I live in Southern France no Walmart's here.

I do really appreciate your offer to take time out of your own busy schedule to help one on one on Skype, but unfortunately I cannot do that. Thanks for the suggestions though, that gives me some excellent ways to tackle this.

Edit: Found and fixed the problem!
