DarkeWolf
Hahaha, now why in the world did I completely forget about file associations? I use them constantly for the toolset! Aw geeze. Thanks much for the reminder Rusty! Plaj3r- lol you'd be surprised how often people get some of this stuff confused. So we're a lil bit used to it ;)However, when dealing with some of the tech issues, it does help to keep the terms straight when possible ;) Ok, first thing with 64bit versions of windows.... did you install Da Mod Manager (DAMM) in the programs folder of your directory? That can cause issues with it. If you did, try reinstalling it to a NON-Windows directory. Like for instance C:/DA ModManager and see if that helps. Also, DAMM has issues with directories that contain symbols, such as used in some non-english languages such as Asian, Russian, Spanish, etc. So for instance if your doucuments/bioware/dragonage/packages/core/override file list contains any foreign characters then it won't find the right folder that it's looking for. This is kinda easy to go around. You just create (making new folders) that follow this filepath along with documents/bioware/dragonage/addins and then after you install the mod, cut and paste the folders it adds from your custom folders into the ones in your documents/bioware/dragon age folders. Also try right clicking on DaModManager.exe and try running as adminstrator, and try running it in XP compatibility mode.
plaj3r
I tried everything. It doesn't really install all in all, i just downloaded a zipped achive, extracted it to my desktop and when it didn't work I tried in another location on another partition of the disc and the same error; "Damodmanager stoped working" emerged. What I am trying to do now is mod another instance of the game on vista x86 and then copy the files to my vista x64 folder... Lets just hope it works :) Othervise I will have to edit the file header of the whole application and modify it to work with x64 systems.
mewfan151
Alright, I'm having the same sort of issue...I'm also running vista, I think it's x64....I've followed about ten different youtube videoes, the readme associated with DAMM, and found a comprehensive guide for installing that particular mod...I get to the point where DAMM asks if I want to install...I hit yes...Nothing happens...So I waited, thinking it might take a little while to register...I think waiting four hours is enough time, so is there a way to fix this at all?I only have windows x64, and my budget is EXTREMELY limited... (Meaning no cash to spend on extra software...) Do you have a fix to this, DarkeWolf?
Thandal
Merry Christmas! OK, not sure where everybody is in their attempts, and I'm jumping into the middle on this, but... DAO-Modmanager (DAMM) does NOT "install" (in the normal Windows sense of installing a program.)It's just an executable (".exe") file that you can stick anywhere. I put it in: "...[user's documents]\Bioware\Dragon Age\packages\core\override", like all my other mods. I then created a new sub-folder (called "mods", you can name it anything you want) under that which I designated for DAMM to use. The first time you run DAMM, it will create two more sub-folders for itself: "\dazip" and "\override", and put them where you specified. You place the appropriate mod files (".dazip" or ".override") in each of them so that DAMM can find them. (NOTE: MOST Dragon Age mods (e.g. facemorphs) are NOT either of these types, and DAMM cannot help mange them at all.) But DAMM does recognize the ".dazip" and ".override" files that are placed in their appropriate folders, and works with them exactly as described in the user's guide. Hope this helps.

Thandal
@asherm19; Well, this thread had been dormant for almost three years, neither DarkeWolf nor RustyBlade have been active for most of that time and I have no idea what happened to the tutorial article, but maybe I can help. What are you trying to do? What have you done? What were the results?
LadyNyteshade
Hopefully I get some better help here.I just downloaded the Natural Bodies All in One 3.0 mod and I have the DA modmanager. However, I have a slight problem. I extract the .override file and move it to the category of Installed Overrides, a box comes up telling me if I really want to install it, I click yes and then that's it, the file doesn't show up in the category to click on or anything. Once I click yes to install, it completely disappears from the da modmanager, therefore I can't configure it. It's driving me insane!I need help! Thandal
Are you sure you're extracting and saving the ".override" file before trying to move it into DAMM? If you just double-click the archive it will open, and it will look like you can drag-n-drop the file, but since it's not really extracted yet, DAMM won't be able to handle it. LadyNyteshade
For some reason, the updated version of DAOmodmanager wasn't working. I uninstalled it and downloaded a slightly older version and it worked fine. Not sure what happened but there we go. Thanks for your help
Thandal
Weird. I have the latest version of both DAMM and NBaio, and they're playing nice together...
