ShadowStrikeAssassin
I've searched for this and all I found was the fix to the error that pops up if you don't have FonixData.cdf thing. I've read http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/48239/? and saw that GECK doesn't inform you that its doing anything, but it hasn't stated how long it would take. I've waited for about 2 hours now and I see no .lip file generated in my character's voice folder. Is it saving the file somewhere else or is the button so broken that I shouldn't trust it anymore? Fallout2AM
You should have the WAV in the same subfolder and select WAV on the checkbox. When you press the button, it will generate the lips almost instantly. Then you could convert WAV in OGG if you want
llamaRCA
You put the Processing folder into your Voice folder, right? Without it, or the wav file, nothing will happen.

Fallout2AM
no I was meaning in the same folder required by your mod.I write you step by step what I do, let's see if it helps - FonixData inside Data\Sound\Voice\Processing- Wave files inside Data\Sound\Voice\MyMod.esp\MyTypeOfVoice\- Rename the wav in the way the mod wants ( = part of the NPC ID + part of the Topic ID + progressive hex ID)To test if it is correct: double click on the dialogue line, to open its window, the window which has RESPONSE TEXT on top, then SCRIPT NOTES, then EDITS, then IDLE ANIMATIONS, then AUDIO.Under AUDIO, there's a table that shows the voice type (or more voice types) avaiable to play that dialogue line. If you make double click over the voice name, you must hear the sentence spoken (it is playing your wav). If you don't hear it, there's something wrong with the path or the name of the file.- If you hear it, and it is WAV (because you can hear it as OGG too, but it won't work with LIP files), then all you need to do is clicking over the kind of voice in the table, so that line becomes blue, then click on the checkbox below, From WAV, at that point the lipsync button should enable and if you click it it will generate the LIP file, it's almost instant, it could take 1-2 seconds.- GECK understands the kind of files you have, so for example if now you click OK to quit this dialogue window, then you double click on it again to re-open it, you can now check on the voices table again: there are a serie of N and Y on the columns, if GECK can find your WAV and LIP files you will have Y under their columns. So for example if you have the WAV but GECK says N under WAV, it means you placed it in the wrong path or you gave it a wrong name. I hope to have explained well :)

I hope to have explained well :smile:Well, I did the naming stuff correct since I know how to voice things such as audio logs, its just my first time making an NPC.I've also done all the other stuff you said an still no LIP file generates. Thanks for the help anyway, I may just give up trying to lip sync it and make do with a companion who talks using his mind until it can somehow fix itself. Do I maybe have to load GECK in compatibility mode or something? I always have it running as Administrator because it always crashes when I don't. If it does have to be in compatibility mode, which should I set it to?
Jokerine
If you really, really cannot get the lip files to generate, send me your esp and voice files and I'll see if I can generate them for you. If it does have to be in compatibility mode, which should I set it to? Not that I'm aware. If you run as admin I think you solve all your problems. However, I work on 7, never worked on 8 so I can't say (in case you use 8...). And Steam folder is not a subfolder of Programs, I always install them out of that. I can't think to other things which could influence, right now.Oh wait, I forgot. I took my fonixdata from skyrim since I own it, not sure if there are others around. It was instinctive for me to copy the file when I've read that message popping out from the GECK, then few months later I've read people were already suggesting that on guides. As last resource, there's still the old "Oblivion way" to generate LIPs, which is awful but hey, it's still a method...
