kyle5585
Hello all, so its been a very long time since ive played oblivion. I recently reinstalled the game and started downloading mods (lots of mods) I came across a mod that i really really really want (Oblivion XP) which requires OBSE. So i downloaded the files and follwed the readme to the T. When trying to run the obse_loader.exe i get the following error message: "crc = 53C68796You have an unknown version of Oblivion. Please check http://obse.silverlock.org to make sure you're using the latest version of OBSE, then send an email to the contact addresses listed in obse_readme.txt if this version is not supported in the latest release. (CRC = 53C68796)checksum not found" I assume it may be relatively common as this text was also in the readme: "obse_loader.log tells me it couldn't find a checksum: - You may have a version of Oblivion that isn't supported. I have the english official patch v1.2.0.416. Localized versions with different executables or different patches may not work, but many have been successful. If there's enough legitimate demand for it, I can add support for other versions in the future.- Your Oblivion install may be corrupt. Hacks or no-cd patches may also change the checksum of the game, making it impossible to detect the installed version." I have bought all of my Official plugins from direct2drive which could be the cause of the error, and frankly i know next to nothing about load orders for mods which would be good info to have regardless of if i can get this to work. I guess my question is this: IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?!?! to run both OBSE and the addon which requires it. If it is indeed impossible to do is there a simmilar mod that would do the same thing but not require OBSE?

kyle5585
thanks for the reply. Guess it's back to the drawing board as far as leveling systems go.
Fonger
buying the DLC from D2D would have nothing to do with your error so let's start from the beginning where does your game come from?
