I use Elys Silent Voice, but only out of necessity. I prefer it when the mod maker includes silent mp3s because that way the length of the silence is tailored to each bit of dialogue. With Elys, it's 8 seconds whether you want it or not. Sometimes that's waaaay too long (waiting 8 seconds for the next piece of dialogue after somebody says "Greetings!" is aggravating as hell) and sometimes it isn't long enough, if a mod tends to include rather lengthy speeches. By including custom length silent dialogue files, the mod maker ensures that you're always getting an appropriate length of time to read their dialogue.

I can understand how some people might not like the extra download time or space taken up... so I voted for the option of including the silent mp3s as a separate download for those who want them. Compromise all around.

I don't have OBSE installed myself, because I run a maximum of 3 mods at a time, but I saw that same phenomenon when I played the Stirk mod. All the speech was exactly 10 seconds long, and it was difficult to about gauge when to click to skip the silence and avoid accidentally skipping the next part.

Yes, EXACTLY. That's why I don't just click to skip the lengthy silence after somebody says one word of greeting. There have been too many times where I clicked at the wrong moment and accidentally skipped past the next line of dialogue. So I don't click anymore, I just wait, but as I said, it is aggravating waiting the full length of time after just one or two words.
