Alehazar
I was always baffled by the lack of logic to my Warden's Nightmare: seeing Duncan in Weisshaupt fortress, regardless of my character's Origin. (The nightmares of my companions always made far more sense.) I don't know whether this might have been due to time constraints experienced by EA / BioWare, or limitations of the Eclipse Engine, but it would have made more sense to have a more personal Nightmare for the Warden -more in line with the Origin Story. Such as Soris and Shianni for the City Elf, Tamlen for the Dalish Elf, Rica for the Dwarven Commoner, well, you get the idea. The whole Weisshaupt thing seems somewhat contrived and too easy to escape from. From the perspective of a plot device it makes more sense: you don't need an elaborate, time consuming scene where the Warden is to gather enough hints that something is amiss with the reality he / she experiences, in order to escape this nightmare. The whole Sloth Demon's Fade storyline, needs to be kickstarted into high gear as soon as possible. As the search for your companions and facilitating your joint escape and the subsequent return to the Circle Tower -to finish Broken Circle- is the main objective. Still, the whole Weisshaupt scene is somewhat disappointing.

Yup, another reason I use "Skip the Fade"! I guess I'm one of the few who doesn't use "Skip the Fade"; aside from a few hiccups here and there, I actually enjoy this bit of the game. On the whole, I'd rather skip the Werewolves (Nature of the Beast) and the Gauntlet (Sacred Ashes); simply because I loathe both the Lady of the Forest and the Guardian. (Something about the way they talk...) Still, with Nature of the Beast I can kill both Witherfang and Zathrian, so that's a win-win for my character. Although her popularity tends to plummet because of that. I guess, that's a small price to pay.

It probably would have been better to see my parents and my brother's family alive. Of course, I don't understand why we didn't immediately drop that demon like we did the others or how he got Wynne when she is possessed but you know, whatever ) Yup, another reason I use "Skip the Fade"! Yes. Greatest mod ever.
MagdalenaDwojniak
I agree, a more personal nightmare would make more impact, maybe they wanted to emphasise you are a Warden, you belong with the Grey in the first place. Yet, the Gauntlet was much better. The Fade, well... What can I say: my Warden is a logical scholarly type. Duncan is all "Heyo, get yourself a drink" and she just puts him out: "You are DEAD. I don't fraternise with (un)dead. Off with you then" and proceeds with punching a Cone of Cold straight into his face, followed by a Stonefist. Poor Duncan. He never saw it coming. Technically speaking he isn't really Duncan, so it's not a big loss. But it's still too easy to escape from. Slothy, here I come!

That's exactly what I am talking about : it is obvious this apparition is not Duncan. Yet the demon tries this pathetic trick. Morrigan's nightmare is even more laughable. PS Sten's and Zevran's are actually very good. Oghren's may be interesting, but I did Orzammar as the fourth quest, so I will have to see it on YouTube. One thing though: isn't it very, umm, daring of the demon to bring up actual memories (Zevran's case) and mix them up with his broken dreams of the Dalish? Wouldn't it just make it easier for the Warden to wake him up as this is certainly no pleasant nap like in Alistair's (an example) case?
