If you replaced your video card, you MUST also start a new game once from the steam launcher and allow it to create a new ini file - the ini is based on your hardware, and by changing the video card, you have changed the hardware and the old ini is no longer valid. Be sure to save the old one somewhere if you have made any manual changes to it - so you can use it as a reference to put those changes back into the new ini.

There is also a known problem using Nvidia that causes the entry point not found error. - it is caused by the Nvidia Experience program that is downloaded automatically with driver updates - The Nvidia Experience is NOT a driver, and will not be rolled back by a driver rollback - just delete it. OR if there is some reason you think you really need it - delete the current version and install an older version. It is not required to play the game, it is not a driver it is a separate program.

thank you but to no avail , deleted experaince, but fomm or fallout.exe do nothing, you click and nothing, task manager shows no

fallout running

You did not understand the first response. You must start the game from "FalloutLauncher.exe", not FOMM, not NMM, not Fallout.exe. It must be started from FalloutLauncher.exe, so that your new video card can be recognized and a new Fallout3.ini is generated.

sorry ,forgot to mention that ,falloutlauncher.exe only gives option to install,

The system thinks the game is not installed...ergo you moved the files or deleted data entries....Solution, re-install the game,

uninstall fallout 3 Via steam application. reboot the machine. Re-install it , allow steam to located the correct data and it should provide you with an option to run the game from inside steams game file folder, the Black overlay...run it direct. This will place data in the right spots.

I play around a lot with many installs of the game and many profiling too so this instance shows up a lot. the launcher will create a new ini file if the data is installed correctly If I need to make the game BELIEVE it is NOT installed, I rename the games folder and have exactly this situation. Some times we can use game bugs for testing too and it helps to know how to make the bugs before you can fix them.

say, you wanted a fresh Virgin set of raw vanilla game files but have a heavily modded game right now and don't want to mess it up?

well, you need to think clearly as to where a and what the game uses and needs. you back up copies of what you have, by slightly renaming the existing folders they are in, re-creating the same game folders and give the uninstaller program "fake files to uninstall.

the game will be uninstalled as far as the system is concerned, you mods and Original files will be intact, untouched. Now, you can re-install the game and have that freshness you wanted + the original l game files with all the mods.

so, back to why you would do all of this? the Fix of the system is what your after + the benefit of access to raw vanilla files. rename the new files folder to "raw vanilla FO3" every where the game installed files, rename back the first set to the Original game file folder names and Bang, your in business. Now the game will run fully modded and no re installing thousands of mods or reconfiguring ton's of things.

you really should see my set up... it would blow your mind.

system [profiles are OS logged on users.. that's windows profiles...basic system data controls things but the temporary folders and networking folders + user used data is all brand new.

separated games systems VIA profiling.

I got the idea from Mod organizer usage. so darn simple. I just take things to stages that can be used, I can replicate just about any bodies bugs if I have a saved game because I can redirect the mod container folder in MO in a separate profile easy.

3000 + mods sitting there in differently arranged renamed folder for their applications.

just have to remember all you do.

C:|fallout3 <------ pretty simple name huh?

C:\kitty 1

C:\kitty 2

C:|kitty 3

an so on but the names are installed game files names 1 is the only one that has any data in it, the others are just place holders where I can move the files from one directory for a profile into that other one....if this is confusing? for get you read it.

just reinstall the game.

Just to give you the correct Idea, exactly what I am revering too that is.

Mo, under a tab for the configuring processes gives you 3 selections available. the name of the folder where the mods are stored is called (Mods) but that does not need to be called that and ...It also does not need to be residing within MO Either......not many think the way I was taught to think, the center selection looks like this as an example. (http://s26.postimg.org/y4udmdwcp/Show_And_Tell.jpg)

and yet ,still have even more types of profiling available, so many ways to choose from.

these are just examples of when I chose to help a user, these are Isolated installed Mod organizer profiles using windows for each installation instance of Mo..within each profile, you do need to set up the desktops so everything is ready for gaming.

I have an addition step I take too.

windows set so you can see all data, nothing is hidden, this step needs to be taken on each profile so you can access the Apps folder where the temp directory is storing information you want to remove from the systems. it gets thick with Junk. Lot's of junk / temp files.

Also, in a user folder when you open it up, did you know you can create any folders in there? I use programs or file name, or just make up a name that matches that profile session. here in this example shows plainly I have nothing to hide and do my testing as stated, Tools..Mods...you name it. this is a smallest drove, I use as a boot up drive, it's a western digital passport the size of a pack of cigarettes.

I can use either sata or USB as boot, depends on the work load chosen. Every test and set of mods are contained with in each profile.

the main game....it's location is on an external Flash drive and contains only the raw basic game sets, there is no overwriting of data.

It's always the same and never changes. I also use ISO images of that same directory to Isolate possible bugs.....you can't write to ISO's so the bugs show them selves. "ah, caught one !", so you see, I got it going on here.

A problem post of mods or merged mods, what ever the bug report or problem posted IS, I have a way to make sure I am protected from bugs. Heck I even have a strict setup for NMM too. so yeah, that's all covered. Nmm only is allowed to access an Iso. and yeah, it wants to write to it too, I wrote a paths workaround for that.

Experiment, don't knock your self out trying to get too much going on, it does take a lot of time to get the things just the way you want them. this method is very Proactive, nothing gets by me any more. Windows catches it all, Debuggers catch all of it too. SDK is used a lot here.

have fun
