blakavar
I don't know if I'm missing somthing obvious, but I have a custom race I made and have set everything but the hair. I have Rens hair show as a option in TES and drag the various hairs over, but when I test in the race creation in oblivion none of them show, just the vanilla. I am suffering from the dumbest thing hang up. You know, create textures, meshes and the freaking HAIR is my hang up!?!?!Very frustrated, any help is apprecated. yeldarb
I just made a race called Testy. I used Cobl races, Oblivion and Cobl main as the three checked files. I used the box with races to create my race, then I moved the box to the side and clicked on my eyes and added glowing blue eyes and glowing green eyes, I then opened the box with my hairs and added seven of the Rens hairs by dragging the hairstyle to my race. I saved the race as an esp called testy. I placed the esp at the bottom of my load order and loaded a saved game at the sewer exit and changed races. I had only the two eye choices and the seven hair styles usable, but they all worked.I had no "vanilla" choices.Your problem is probably a mod conflict caused by a cosmetic mod. If you create your own race do it on a clean Oblivion with the minimum of mods necessary, and always have your races esp load last.
LFact
The 'easiest' way to add eyes/hair to custom race is: 1. Open the plugin with Construction Set.2. Make new eyes/hair record. (Character->Hair, Right-click to make new entry. Same to eyes)3. Add the hair/eyes you want. The editor ID should be 'unique' to prevent possible conflict with other cosmetic mod/custom race mod.4. Add new hairs/eyes to the race. (Character->Race, choose the race you will edit, select 'Body Data' tab, Drag-and-drop hair/eyes from Hair/Eyes list window)
blakavar
Thanks for the help. I was able to get them to work by giving them a unique editor ID (all credit still to ren) which in the long run is better at preventing conflicts, though more work. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33102 Pictures of the final product.
