Domas
So, here's my dilemma. I really want to experience modding my FO3 to its full potential, but that requires Fallout Script Extender. However, I read on various forums that FOSE disables LIVE and in turn disables any achievement gained. So my question is, is anyone here an achievement angel (like myself) but really wanted to try out FOSE and the various mods that require it, so used the "addachievement ##" console command and gotten all of the achievements? I understand Micro$oft bans LIVE accounts for use of third party means to gain achievements, but the console is an in-game feature, so is it OK to use? Also, I have gotten a good majority of every achievement on Xbox 360, so it's not as if I haven't actually obtained them already. (Don't believe me? GT: Domas). Whole reason I bought the game for PC is because I found out the achievements are separate from the Xbox 360 cheevos. However, I've always been interested in mods for Bethesda games, so that was kind of a bonus for my purchase. If anyone could give me insight on what they've done or such, it would be much appreciated. Thanks !
falloutperson416
The console command really is'nt an in - game feature. It's a direct script command that makes something happen by word, instead if in game action. In that case... would that change what you were saying about the in - game feature? However I meant it as the devs intentionally give us the console, and could have chose to omit the "addachievement ##" command script all together had M$ decided to consider it "cheating" or "hacking" - which is why I presumed it wasn't against their ToS. falloutperson416
Well... Have you looked up there rules? I don't know what privacy MS has set for themselves, <more or less> I don't care. FOSE increases freezing in my game, and of course disables live. Not worth it. Even though there are amazing mods, like J3x's motorcycle and the Jetpack mod, all fantastic. It's just to much of a hassal. But, don't let it discourage you. If you want FOSE, then you get it. Ya know, you could just create a seperate FOSE profile, so when you want achievments, just use your non FOSE proflile, and don't luanch the game using FOSE, and vise versa. DCstar
FOSE disables live only when Fallout is started through it. Live uses anti-cheating elements and thus FOSE disables it.
Domas
So basically launch Fallout 3 via fose_launcher when playing "offline," then disable any FOSE required mods and launch via FOMM when I want to play signed into LIVE?
DCstar
Yes, that should work fine.
