danscott84
Busy getting a beat down here. Urn mountain, Mage with the sword up on the dias. Poisen back stabbed him, flurry and riposte and a nice finishing move. Very proud of myself and took screenies. Then looked down and saw a whole host of drakes. Everybody died. Sandal cried. Think I'll read a book. 1.04 working well though. Heh, you talking about the room with the cultist overseer, the 2 drakes, and the swarm of reavers? Tried to pull a few times there, but it always failed. I just ended up rushing the overseer dude and it somehow worked lol. I dont know if this is a bug, but for some reason the first gift I gave oghren in awakening gave +6 approval, and so did the second. Dont they normally start at +10 and then go down for each one (the specific character gifts, not the generic ones)? Gifts for the other characters seemed to work ok though. Also, Im a bit miffed that I dont have any girls in my party lol :P. If you are playing an imported character, and gave Oghren gifts in Origins, then you are only supposed to get +6 in awakenings. That's the downside of importing over. +10 comes from the beginning with a new character.

Also, Im a bit miffed that I dont have any girls in my party lol :P.You got a +6?! Every time I give a gift in DA:A I get +5, doesn't matter if it the first gift or the 10th I always get +5. In DAO I start at +10 and then +9, +8 etc on down to +6 unless it is one of those anyone gifts like the pantaloons or the cake +1 or rarely +2. For generic gifts, its supposed to give +5, and then down from there. Char-specific ones are supposed to give +10, and then down from there. The bonus goes down by 1 for each gift given to that character. Shouldnt oghren be friendlier toward an imported character, as he would already know him? As for whether memory leaks are fixed in 1.04, I wouldnt really know because I often end up exiting the game for whatever reason after about 2 hours lol. But thats probably a good thing for me since Im running 32 bit windows with 3 GB RAM (which means I cant patch it with large address aware, as there isnt any more space for me to give it). The main reason why I installed 1.04 is because I hear lots of bad things about the bugginess of Awakening, and Id prefer to have at least some of that fixed when I play it lol. I wish BW would update the toolset so someone can make an Awakening fixpack...
danscott84
SkullKnight, Oghren not being tranferred over as friendly is something I have often wondered myself. Since BW took the time to import the gift-line status over from Origins (keeping track of gifts given) why didn't just import over his approval also? My guess it was a last minute thing to import the new character since Awakening is supposed to be about an Orlesian warden, and importing was included as an aftethought. Brokenergy could probably expand more, but this is my understanding from reading/posting on some of the other boards here.
SkullKnight
Eh...Ive been getting random crashes and also the equipment script didnt work right in silverite mine. I dont think its specific to 1.04 though, as I heard silverite mine was a buggy place before too. Anyways, I hope they fix it in 1.05...
Sebiale
I did have a crash, however it was in Darkspawn Chronicles, so I don't think either my mods or 1.04 would be responsible for that as neither of them are targeted at DSC AFAIK.

Awakening is the story of the Orlesian Warden not you (I checked it with Mr. Gaider or was it Mr. Priestly, I don't remember). You can see that there is more stuff dealing with the Orlesian Warden than you (if you played the game). I'm disappointed of how BW handled the transfer and I hope that they improve it in DA2. usprivateer
Hmm...Has anyone noticed problems with tactics? I'm using Advanced Tactics by Anakin and I'm noticing that some of the tactics fail to fire now. Example: Whynn is set on tactics slot 4 "Enemy: Nearest visible mage" = "jump to 21". 21 is set at "Nearest visible mage = petrify. What she does is run to her normal safe combat distance and then do nothing. Will not even fire the rest of her tactics and get hacked to pieces. In my test with Kolgrim there are 2 mages in easy distance. If I point her in the right direction and tell her to attack she apparently starts working again. Anybody playing with AT seeing this? I havent noticed anything wrong with AI, probably because I dont use any of the more advanced features, but if it worked fine before, I would probably associate it with the fact (?) that the scripting was rolled back by the new patch. No idea if its an intentional part of the fixes, or whether it was simply a mistake, but a poster on bioware social claims that these functions: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/71/index/1809510 are no longer available as a result of this change. If AT used any of those functions, then part of it wont work correctly. I think that it might be possible to extract the script.ldf from the 1.03 erf (patch002.erf?) and place it in override to see if it solves the problem; however, this may have unintended consequences. You can save first and then try overriding it. The issue with the rolled back scripting may warrant its own thread for discussion and research, as I dont know much about it myself. Perhaps someone with modding experience will have more useful information...(ahem...I dont even have the toolset installed atm :pinch: since I dont want to mess with SQL Server. Now I wish there was another way to extract erf files *hint* *hint*) Btw, original post I am referencing:The patch003.erf includes the wrong (i.e. patch001.erf) version of script.ldf and set scripting back 2 patches. We have lost the v1.03 functions listed in the New Scripting Commands thread.
usprivateer
Yep. I saw that post. I've relayed the question on to Anakin, we'll see if he answers. I can't make the problem happen consistently. Several times now they just stand there. Never happened with 1.03. I think I'll rollback. Can you use a 1.04 save game on a 1.03 install?
