eLucifer
I just downloaded the geck and have been going through this tutorial:http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Bethsoft_Tutorial_GECK_Setup . I finished it and moved on to this one: http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Bethsoft_Tutorial_Layout but not everything is clear. The first tutorial made me exit so I have to load again in order to go on to second. But I don't know what to load. The Fallout3.esm or the Vault74.esp I created in the beginning of the second tutorial. It's not clear which one I need to load. Also, GECK stops responding upon trying to exit and I have to wait a long time to be able to exit the program.
Quetzlsacatanango
Vault74.esp is the one you want, make sure to make it 'active'.
eLucifer
Yeah well, I'm not sure how to make something active. The whole description given in the website wasn't clear at all, especially for a guy like me whose a bit unfamiliar to whole this modding stuff. Meh, after creating the first halfway given in the tutorial I gave up anyway. This Geck thing just isn't for me. Maybe I'll go on and edit some existing places from now on... pkleiss
Don't give up! The Geck has a steep learning curve, but it will get easier. To make a mod the active file, you must do this: Start the Geck. From the toolbar, go to File --> Data. Scroll down the list of mods until you see yours. Highlight it and press the 'Set as Active File" button. There should now be an "X" in the box next to your mod and the text after your mod should say "Active File" where before you did this it would have said "Pluggin File". Then just hit OK to load your mod as the active. While you can load many mods, you can only make changes to the Active File.
