NVidia Geforce GT 240 Specs:

Memory Specs: Memory Clock (MHz) 1700 MHz GDDR5, 1000MHz GDDR3, 900MHz DDR3

Standard Memory Config 512 MB or 1 GB

Memory Interface Width 128-bit

Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 54.4 GB/sec

(Should be plenty for Oblivion & HDR)

 

Make sure too that the drivers you use are actually from nVidia especially if it was manufactured by ASUS. I once had a ASUS ATi card and Asus GamerOSD gave me a gray screen bug (The so called bonus software on the asus driver disk can wreak havoc with your game). After i Uninstalled that and re-installed my drivers directly from the Manufacturer the problem i had was fixed.
