duncanlambert
Everytime i started up Fallout with all my mods installed i never had a problem, but one day i woke up and jumped onto my game only to have it repeatedly crash my computer. It gets to the Bethesda slide and my computer refuses to do anything and i have to switch it off at the wall, my mod loadout is as follows: [X] Fallout3.esm[X] Lings.esm[X] Anchorage.esm[X] ThePitt.esm[X] BrokenSteel.esm[X] PointLookout.esm[X] Zeta.esm[X] Project Beauty.esm[X] CALIBR.esm[X] FOOK2 - Main.esm[X] FOOK2 - [*censored*] World And Neighbourhood Kit.esm[X] FOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.esm[X] LingsFinerThings.esm[X] Shojo Race.esm[X] EnhancedChildren.esm[X] FOOK2 - Project Beauty.esp[X] FOOK - DIK - Project Beauty.esp[X] Shojo NPC.esp[X] 99+2.esp[X] Project Beauty- Broken Steel.esp[X] Project Beauty- Point Lookout.esp[X] LingsPrettyThings-BrokenSteel.esp[X] LingsFinerThings.esp[X] FOOK2 - Main.esp[X] FOOK2 - [EVE] Energy Visuals Enhanced.esp[X] FOOK2 - [DIK] DLC Improvement Kit.esp[X] FOOK2 - Mothership Zeta.esp[X] MyFOOK2 - Black & White Tranquility Lane.esp[X] WeaponModKits.esp[X] WeaponModKits - OperationAnchorage.esp[X] WeaponModKits - ThePitt.esp[X] CRBSOR.esp[X] WeaponModKits - BrokenSteel.esp[X] WeaponModKits - PointLookout.esp[X] WeaponModKits - Zeta.esp[X] WeaponModKits - FOOK.esp[X] 1PipboyPDA.esp I renamed some of them to avoid confusion, but i'm wondering if my FOSE is out of date. duncanlambert
Bump bump bump! Its making fallout unworkable, somebody please help!!!
BaronofHe11
Try uninstalling WMK, fook 2, or getting FOIP. I thought fook and wmk required FOIP but I could be wrong. You can also try creating a merge patch with FO3edit.
duncanlambert
thats interesting, i'll have to get ahold of that and a tutorial, It seems to be playable everytime i download and install FOSE, but when i play it again after turning off my pc it crashes my pc and i have to re-install FOSE, its really bizarre! duncanlambert
yeah, the issue still stands, i'm not convinced its a mod problem. It mainly crashes when there is no cursor at the "please wait" slide, before the Bethesda slide. Are there any other symptoms that i should report on? BaronofHe11
My game crashes at the same place sometimes with the same missing cursor as a indicator of the pending crash.
duncanlambert
do you have any of the same mods as me?
BaronofHe11
Yeah I do have some of the same mods and I have gotten it to stop 100% of time. This is going to sound odd but what I do is move the mouse around slowly in a circle while the game is starting. If the cursor is missing it will magically show up after a few seconds and no crash. I don't think this has anything to do with mods in general. I think the game can't handle that many and is running short of memory and doing some kind of mouse check or something. By mouse the windows is telling the game where the mouse is so the game doesn't have to spend resources on the mouse. This is just guess though. The crash before only happen a little less than half the time. I'm guessing most people ignore this since you can start the game backup pretty fast. And other people with more powerful machines or better setup might never see the problem. Wait a minute I also install the unofficial patch. That came with some kind of mouse fix for a acceleration problem. It is possible that fixed issue and not my magic circle. hmmm I'll stop doing the circles to see if I get a crash and report back on what happens. The mods we share are shojo, lings, WMK, PB, all dlc, and the 99 which I have no idea what that is but I have it also.
maltonb
If you still having problems with this, Try setting the Fallout3.exe to run in Compatibility Mode. Set it to run in Windows 2000. Freezing and crashes happen less often, maybe you can get past the slide :D if not try windows 2003 sp1. I hope it works for you!
