VikingHippie82
Sorry if this is a request already answered. I did extensive searching (both on google and here) but couldn't find an answer. Any mods feel free to delete my post for being a duplicate if that's the case, as long as someone points me to the answer ;-)That being out of the way, my question is this: could somebody PLEASE make a mod that makes clairvoyance show you the correct route (no walking into walls and the like) to the destination of the only quest I have marked as active? I know most people will say "just look at the map! How hard can it be?" and the like, but to me, it's extremely difficult. In spite of having well above average general intelligence, I have absolutely HORRIBLE sense of direction and short-term memory, partially because of my ADHD. I tend to play melee characters and only use one spell, clairvoyance, and only when I get well and truly lost. Without clairvoyance, most complex single-level maps (some dungeons, the Ratways, even entire cities like Markarth and the like) would have me either abandoning otherwise enjoyable quests or trying over and over again to find my way until I'm no longer having any fun and am just going on stubbornness. For that reason, Clairvoyance is by FAR my favourite spell. That being said: I only use it after trying several times to find my way to the next objective and failing. When I'm at that point, that Donnie Darko-esque spear leading me straight into a wall (architectural or natural) with no obvious way around makes the game awful for a while. Sorry about being so long-winded, anyone know of a way to make sure that my beloved Clairvoyance doesn't desert me? ;-)
cdcooley
That's odd because I also use Clairvoyance fairly frequently and I very rarely have a problem. The only times it has ever pointed through walls is if there's a secret door. Occasionally it simply fails, but that's when I'm standing in odd non-navmesh locations. Are you using mods that move buildings around without fixing up the navmesh data to match?
lofgren
I seem to recall reading in one of the official patch notes that clairvoyance was fixed. Is your game fully patched? I would say that Clairvoyance works for me the majority of the time. I would guess, though I cannot be certain, that any remaining issues are beyond the ability of modders to fix, at least those of us who only work with the CK. Maybe an skse plugin could do it. I can't speak to that.
VikingHippie82
Yeah I'm fully patched and no, no mods hat move buildings around in any way. Can't seem to find any skse plugins that deals with this specific problem but while searching, I DID find some pretty great ones so thanks nonetheless heh. I guess I'll just have to do the tcl trick from time to time I guess
Dohkaviin
We have a compass for that. Jeez.
VikingHippie82
We have a compass for that. Jeez.if the compass and map was enough, do you think I'd get lost in the first place? Markarth is the only city I get lost in, other than that it's the dungeons with all their dead ends and diffent levels overlaid on each other etc. When Clairvoyance works, it saves me HOURS of frustrated searching for that one semi-hidden path I keep missing while trying to follow the compass marker to my destination.. When it doesn't, I usually either give up on the dungeon or travel through walls and floors and ceiling using the console "collison off" thing but that's immersion-breaking and leaves followers behind..
