Waloosh
I'm redesigning the only mod I've uploaded on here called Aleric's Castle. The original was just something I threw together, mostly for myself as a place to store everything I don't feel like selling yet. The upload now is basically what I've been using, and to be honest, it was getting quite boring... So I decided to redo it, or at least fix it up! One of my new additions is going to be an obstacle course and training area. So far, I've got a place for ranging practice with bows, and a walking beam. I like the walking beam. It helps with coordination and balance for us humans, AND it helps increase agility and acrobatics in game because I made it from a low point to a high point and you have to jump to get to the next beam. It's sort of short, so I may be fixing it soon. Anyway, my question is.. does anybody have any other ideas I can add? I would like it to be able to increase skills. My main thing is sneak training. I know that it's really easy to do that since all you have to do is sneak and you gain, but I was hoping to have a person or animal around that wont react when they see you or something so it helps it level faster. Melee section is going to be there soon too, just gonna be a dummy as usual. I don't know if there's anything else that increases the skill faster, so that will have to do. Anybody have anymore ideas to add to the obstacle course?
David Brasher
I think for training you should have an immortal monster in a pit. You can go knock him around and he can knock you around. He never dies though he might kill you. You could make it so you have to jump out of the pit to escape when you need healing. If you aren't coordinated enough to jump out, you die. I think you should have a big room with lots of locked chests with rather hard locks. Most of the chests would be empty, but a few would have treasure in them. You could gain a lot of skill trying to pick all those locks. You could have a blacksmith shop full of broken weapons and armor and repair hammers so you could practice your armorer skill. You could have a group of really disagreeable and unpleasant servants. You could practice your speechcraft on them to improve that skill. (You could have a script which makes them start hating their master or mistress again so that you can start all over again to get more practice. Your wine cellar could be infested with some really tough respawning rats. You could practice sneaking and practice combat on them. You could have a garden full of herbs, and an alchemy lab. You could practice your alchemy this way. You could have some platform hopping to practice your acrobatics. You could have a room full of avoidable traps to practice your skill with the game controls and practice restoration when you slip up.
Waloosh
Well, I'm looking more towards combat training. Stealth, Weapons, Agility, Acrobatics, stuff like that. Was thinking about the pit, thought it would be pretty nice. I have a balance beam-type-thing, but actually was thinking of a platform-similar thing too.. I was kinda thinking something where you have to jump, stealth, jump, stealth. Already have a large garden and alchemy lab. The other stuff is nice, but like I said, I'm looking more towards combat. I'll include you in my credits when I'm ready to release, thanks!
ub3rman123
Heheh, a hall with a pile of skeletons shooting arrows at you from above. In case you really want to kill people. For sneaking.. Mannequins?
Waloosh
@David BrasherYou mentioned to add a blacksmith shop full of broken weapons and/or armor... How exactly can you damage them in the CS? I see "Health", but that affects their maximum health, but not damage. You got me interested in this idea now, lol.
David Brasher
To damage a weapon or armor but allow it to be repairable, place the object into the world in the render window. Double click on it to select it and bring up the "Reference" window. Click "Extra." Lower health here.
