Tulsa299
So I'm learning more about tesedit, I have the manual and have read a decent amount of it.. kind of.. I learn by doing not reading..unfortunately. So the question, bare with me in it's explanation. Say I have three mods, I load them into tesedit: Mod 1 mod 2 mod 3 <<<<right panel addthing blank blank Moving mod 1 below mod 3 in the load order will fix this problem yes?Alternatively, can I drag ''addthing'' from mod 2 (within tesedit) to mod 3, I.e adding an asset from mod 2 to mod 3 and be happy with my nice green wall of text. Mod 1 mod 2 mod3Addthing addthing i think this is more complex than I'm giving it credit for... Is this what a merged patch does? If so why does my patch not affect all conflicting mods? is it the apply filter process? Halp. Edited October 22, 2014 by Tulsa299

Yes. Probably the best solution if you're not all that familiar with Tes5Edit. Quote Alternatively, can I drag ''addthing'' from mod 2 (within tesedit) to mod 3, I.e adding an an asset from mod 1 to mod 3 and be happy with my nice green wall of text. Rather depends on what that might be. If, for example, it's a simple edit to change a vanilla weapon's base damage, then you can indeed just drag it over.A word of advice: Don't focus too much on the colors of record entries. All it takes for an entry to be "red" is to have 3 or more plugins change the value. It doesn't necessarily mean it's something gamebreaking or anything like that. But if the change is say; a different (mod-added mesh), then Tes5Edit will ask you to add the plugin from mod #1 as master to mod # 3. Your best bet would be to either re-sort the plugins or make a patch which loads behind all those mods to which you can add these changes. And yes, a merged can indeed do this too, but a merged patch is created through an automated process. If you create one, you will need to check it's records to see if it does what you want. You can also add whatever record you want it to add too. Quote is it the apply filter process? Don't bother applying any kind of filters at all when doing any of the above. Besides, it might filter out something important.
