Schattenu
Wait, so do I need to make the Games\Oblivion.txt file? Because now I'm starting to get a little annoyed with all this. I reinstalled Oblivion in the new C:\Games folder, but I can't actually play it; it says that it can't find the Oblivion game executable and tells me to reinstall the game. How did you go about reinstalling it? Did you uninstall and then install the game to the new location? Copying and pasting it won't work.
Schattenu
Yep, uninstalled it, reinstalled it in the new folder and merged stuff from the old folder to the new one so I could keep all the other mods I had downloaded and installed over the past few weeks. yeldarb
I have Oblivion installed into C:Games\Oblivion on my computer to avoid UAC. You already have a copy of you original Oblivion files. When you reinstall the game do a test run of the launch icons before you merge your Original Data with the new install to make sure it is working correctly. You might want to delete your configuration settings in Documents\My Games Oblivion, this file is named Oblivion also. The game will create a new cofiguration settings file when you do restart the game.EDIT The plus side is you will only have to do this one time. Once you have the C:Games you will be installing all of your games into it.

Did the game launch properly before you tried that?
Schattenu
Yep, without merging the folders, everything runs fine and it's retained my saved games, although all of my mods are not there. Is there something I shouldn't be merging?

Is there something I shouldn't be merging?Don't merge. Just copy all contents of the Data folder over except for the BSAs and the Shaders folder. If you are using DarN or DarkUIdDarn, you need to reinstall that in order to reapply any INI tweaks.
