deducter
I recently installed Windows 8.1. Now whenever I select XCOM: EW to start from the launcher, it defaults me to XCOM: EU. I get the same result if I select EU from the launcher. I have tried validating my Steam files, updating my graphics drivers, and deleting/redownloading the game, but the problem persists. dubiousintent
Have you installed ANY mods, but specifically TexMod, for either EU or EW either previously or after installing Win 8.1? When you say "from the launcher" do you mean by clicking on the launcher EXE file or a shortcut? If a shortcut, please report the "target" path given for it, as well as the full path to XCOM for comparison. When you deleted before re-installing: did you clear out both the game folder and the "My Games\XCOM" folder? -Dubious-

I asked three questions above, and you replied as to one. As you are having problems, we can't work from assumptions. What are your answers for the other two? Also, did you install the Steam folder to somewhere other than "C:\Program Files"? If not, please read the wiki article "Installing games on Windows Vista+" and move (preferably "re-install" so the registry gets updated correctly) Steam elsewhere. Then check out the wiki article "Modifying textures". -Dubious-
