Dudeman325
The fake reality isn't a fourth wall thing. It's a reference to the ball of dung Lorkhan got rolling that we know as Mundus.Edit: And possibly the Anu/Padhome/Godhead/Dreamer thing, and most certainly related to the concept "Aurbis is a song," which they were tinkering around with using their Tonal Architecture without fully understanding it. Dudeman325
I'm going to wrap this up with the best sentence I can before bowing out gracefully... The Dwemer tried to build a God, not knowing they built the equivalent of a "reality atom bomb" that unmade them into the means it uses to interact with the Mundane world. (The "ball of dung" is a reference to the monkeytruth story of the Orc Creation Myth)
deathbymanga
ok, so, your telling me ALL Dwemer culture decided to just go and build god?
Dudeman325
Some did, with consequences for all because of their technology and belief structure. Edit: There are rumors that this technology included a means of telepathic commmunication. If the Dwemer were all mentally linked at the moment of Numidium's activation, this could explain why it was able to "grab" every single one of them, except those that were out of range of this communication such as "The Last Dwemer" Yagrum Bagarn (who was supposedly in a different dimension at the time). Morgwynn
The Dwemer had the technology to read Elder Scrolls and transcribe that knowledge onto a lexicon for all Dwemer to access now it's possible that with that knowledge they experimented with the idea of creating a Dragon Break and simple transported their entire species to another parallel reality/time line/plane of existence. After all if an Elder Scroll can rip a hole in space and time and send the Dragon Born to Sovngarde at the Throat of the World then it could have sent the Dwemer to another time line/plane of existence/pocket dimension. The Dwemer at their height must have found more than one Elder Scrolls since Dwemer ruins can be found almost everywhere, I think it's safe to assume that knowledge was transcribed onto lexicons to be studied. deathbymanga
its all very likely, if they got sent to a different time, that they could all of a sudden just end up here and now, just out of the blew, and it would still fit the immersion
Dohkaviin
Hey, I had this very crazy Idea that the Dwemer race actually went to the PAST, instead of future, or in another dimension, etc. Now, now, I know, it's crazy, alright, but listen. What if the dwemer knew how to travel through time and went to the past in an eternal loop? That explains why they are technologically advanced because they just keep on developing and developing but they are actually a very very very early race?Reasons why they'd do this:-The other races of the past are more controllable.-More resources for irreplaceable stuff, like oil, metals, and other limited resources.-They will gain advantage over other races, so that they can further improve their technology.Or probably it's a curse of the divines for their ignorance, which they utilized using the pointers above. Or probably they tampered with an elder scrolls and they became an eternal prophesy? I think it was written in some book or so. This would make them the ancestor of all elves. We'll get back to that later. What if, let's just say, that Humans are actually from earth, like literally, and they kinda high orbited Nirn, kinda like some kind of experiment about seeding a planet. I am working on a "book" (actually, I'm just typing it out in notepad) about this, making my own lore in a story, lol. It's non-profit, mind you. I just want to speak my mind. Anyway, let's just say that humans have gone through the "Great Filter". This Great Filter is a stumbling block that all civilizations will encounter that will push them back to the stone age. Either a catastrophe, or self imposed crisis (As with fallout 3. This could be a parallel universe of TES lore, lol). Now, The humans are the first civilization to get through the stumbling block. Now, after they launched project nirn, they released stasis pods with humans in it that are to be launched to the surface of Nirn. Little did they know that it was in fact, inhabited by intelligent life, because probably the elves still lived in caves when the humans gazed upon the surface of Nirn, because of the distance.. It needs a bit of physics knowledge to understand, but nonetheless, I will proceed. Now after the stasis pods were launched, they traveled millions of light years to nirn and when they woke up from stasis, a few landed at the continent of Atmora, Akavir, few on Tamriel, and Yokuda. Now, as you can see, They only brought a few "scouting" equipment. Mainly cameras, a few guns for protection, things like that. They didn't bring any Terra forming equipment, self supported factories, and other equipment used for invasion. This would be like the disaster on Ionith, where they went to the continent of Akavir unprepared which was, to say... unprofitable. Now, we will concentrate on the "nords" that landed on Atmora, because akavir and yokuda are too mysterious and the people in tamriel was not elaborated further. Now, when these nords landed on atmora, Dragons still lived, and they lived in fear because they know nothing about the land, inhabitants, etc. After a few generations, because they don't know how to assemble advanced technology any more, they crafted swords, which led them to forget about technology. Then, they sailed to Tamriel after they spent up all the resources [they knew] and decided to move on. Not everyone went there in an instant though, which led to wars and the Skaals. Now back to the dwemer. When the Humans first High orbited, the only elves on nirn, are the dwemer. This would explain why Septimus Signus would ask you to acquire the blood of all the elves to "mimic" the blood "password" to the dwemer lockbox. This is because they are all related and descended from Dwemer. Now, back to the topic, Dwemer, in their ignorance, probably angered the gods and also because of tampering with the elder scrolls, they cast themselves in the weave of time, doomed their race in eternal timeloop. Now, because they're smart, they utilized this timeloop so that they will be the most technologically advanced race in all of nirn. Now, that would explain why they are "gone" in the start of the first empire, because they actually went to the past, instead of the future, and this means their time on Nirn, is over, and they have to start over again in.... the merethic era or so. As you can see, I believe that every "moment", every movement of everything, space, time, atoms, energy, EVERYTHING, is saved in some kind of metaverse where it is archived in some sort of pancake layers, where one pancake is one universe, and if you wanted to go to the future or past, you will have to travel to another layer, which means travel to another universe, where a certain "thing" didn't happen. For instance, what if today, you didn't read this. Didn't surf the web, and actually went outside, had a date with a hot girl, got home, didn't wank off like you always do, then didn't spend time in the internet. In that universe, just by thinking about that, it is real, in the infinite of universes. It's pretty mindblowing, I know. But everything you think and didn't think of, is real.... But it's in the pancake archives of the metaverse, and for it to be real, you would have to travel to that universe. Anyway, going back, that would mean that the dwemer just went to another pancake layer, to start over again and redevelop their technology (because they left it back on your universe, remember?) and refine it so that when they come back... You better be ready for them, because they're gonna be tougher, smarter, and more technologically advanced. My "book" will also explain why there are Aedra and Daedra, why the Divines are "pretty" weak and cannot mold reality to their whim, and other mysteries. But, my work is not yet released, due to mindf*#@ and other stress.
