Dullahan
Hey, is there a mod, if it is possible to make, that would give your character free will? Kinda like the Sims? For example, when you're in a tavern, you can sit down at a table, and eat.. Not just select the items from your inventory, but actually eat like other characters? And when you're in your house, it would be so cool if you could watch your character living his life, as in, pressing a certain key, giving him free will, such as, sitting down and reading, eating, sleeping, working on his spells, or other skills, and when you press the key again, it exits free-will mode? That would be so cool.. Is this even possible?
EHAD
I suppose the best way to do this would be to create some kind of spell or what-not that spawned an NPC with identical equipment, stats, etc.. The hard part would be giving them a scheduale (I don't think I spelled that right) so that they didn't just stand there. It would really be a mod that let watch your self be controlled by the AI but a mod that made a clone of so you could...watch your self be controlled by the AI. Povuholo
That would be hard to make... You can always roleplay it yourself if you can't wait for the mod... There already is a mod (beta right now, i've tested it, it is already working just fine) which adds animations like painting, drinking, sleeping, clapping and more to your player by equipping rings. loveme4whoiam
That sounds pretty interesting - taking the NPC animations and using them on the PC. Think I might get that one D

LOL!!!!! that's kicka$$.. that would be cool to see :P breaking windows, randomly spawned teens screwing on street corners, barfights, the begger's peeing from Skiingrad's balconies.. darius2002
That sounds awsome. I would love to fight like a doppleganger of my char as well. Cause really... no matter what bandits you find in the wilderness at higher levels, one of them isn't really as good as you. Even if someone made a mod with a quest that ended up with you fighting your dopple would be very cool. However, there is one problem I can see with this already. I made a post on another site trying to figure out how to make working npc's using Ren's beauty pack, and still haven't fitgured it out. Any NPC i make using Ren's beauty pack makes the game crash on me when I load into whatever map the npc is on. Even just editing normal npc's looks to Ren's makes it crash. And most people now are probley using custom characters, many with Ren's. So that would be an issue to deal with first i guess.
Vagrant0
Back on topic, this isn't possible. The PC will never do anything scripted. And, given the fact that the radiant AI seems to be disabled for the most part, any free will is really unlikely. Hell, just going around and adding a bit more randomness to NPCs would even be a challenge. The reality is that alot of these people read about Radiant AI, dreamed up situations that they thought were possible, then realized how wrong they were. This is an old topic anyway... Why do people insist on recycling this stuff?
GBHis
"There has always been ghosts in the machines. Random segments of code joined, forming undocumented protocols and thus creating what we know as -- free will." I, AI. Uhm. No more movies. Making the player clone is a fun idea. I think it is possible. Go for it :)You could ask the original modder for help, if you need any..? You could script your own behavior, put the script on all NPC's in the game and -tada- AI. That's what most NPCs in the game are based off of.
