Domas
I installed OBSE according to the readme for "Steam" users: Copying all three DLLs and leaving the exe. However, certain mods don't seem to either A) work properly, B) install correctly, or C) both... For instance, for A Chingari and Ismelda Demon Race "http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14528" I need OBSE in order to "fly." No problem, as I installed it according to steam settings. However, when I go to install the Demon Race, I can only choose the esps for non-flying (non-OBSE) versions. Also, for Realistic Leveling, I get an error that altogether doesn't allow me to install the mod via OBMM. In order to "bypass" these errors, I simply copied the obse_loader.exe over to my Oblivion directory, installed the mods, then renamed the loader so it wouldn't launch as if I were playing off a disk. I apologize if that is a bit confusing... Basically my question is this: How am I able to install OMODS via OBMM that require OBSE while running the game through Steam? (Don't ya love all those acronyms?). I've read and reread the OBSE readme, and it seems it should be as simple as copying the three DLLs over and running the game... Am I missing something? Such as in Fallout 3 where I would need to rename the Fallout Script Extender executable to Fallout3.exe? Any help is much appreciated !

Just leave it in your data folder and continue launching through Oblivion.exe. It seems that some scripts much only check for the launcher, which is unfortunate. Do you know that OBSE is working? Do you have Steam community in-game enabled?
steelstiletto
Unfortunately, the current version of OBMM has an issue where the code to check for OBSE doesn't support the Steam version of OBSE. I found this out after trying to install a mod and talking with it's creator, who actually released a version that removed the check for OBSE because of this bug. It's good that you found out a solution to it (adding the launcher to the folder), so let me know how that works over time.

It will either work, or it won't work. Time will not change that. I presume, current authors can add a check to their OMOD script that checks for a different file. Domas
Thanks for all the input! However I found the solution to my problem. Apparently it was on Steam's end, and not mine. Fortunately they released their own version of the obse_loader.exe to run compatibly through Steam. Here is a link to the post from Valve: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10397984&postcount=42 Hopefully anyone else with a similar problem will be able to search for this post, as I wasn't able to find any already created on this forum.

If you can tell by my thread, I was also experiencing problems with OBSE. Out of curiosity, how do you even use OBSE? Can you just screw around with it and move objects and such? Most users install it in order to use mods with plugins that depend on its extended script functions and/or various OBSE plugins.
