Help with recording oblivion

right, so i have seen lots of videos that people have done for recommended mods and i thought i would try give it a go. So i downloaded CamStudio for free and tested it first by recording my desktop, everything was fine. I then pressed record again and started up oblivion stayed on the menu for 1min then exited. I then watched it back and saw when i entered oblivion the sceen just went black then i exited oblivion it showed my desktop again, so for some reason i can't record oblivion; i tryed it on other games and the same thing happens. So i was wondering does anyone know why i can't video my games? i have seen lots of people do it and i am sure a few of them said they did it without paying money for expensive video recorders.

thanks for the reply but,

i already have fraps, for my sceenshots, but as i don't wanna spend money it means i can only do a video for 30secs and i can't seem to get it to record a video in the first place.

Any other suggestions for other free software?
