SkullKnight
Anyone know of any good mods for increasing the difficulty of the game in a fair and balanced way? I dont notice a very large difference between the different difficulty levels provided by the game, and as I get better at the game and install cool mods, nightmare is not enough in some situations (although I did set it down temporarily after getting wiped out 8 times at the same fight :P). I know of two good mods Flash Creatures Rescale + Improved Atmosphere, but those make major changes to the game and require new save files (and cannot easily be removed if something undesirable happens). I may use those to spice up my game on another playthrough, but for now I just need something quick and simple thats easy to turn on or off. Also, is there a mod that allows creatures to scale higher, preferably to the same level caps as the player?
Retribution
Nightmare + Why do you want to play a game where the people you fight are much stronger than you? I would like a mod that made the game more realistic. I'm tired of seeing Sten slash Marjolaine 50 times for her to die.

Kaerar
I do remember a level cap remover which allows the AI to scale to all levels in all zones. Very scary in the Origins...
SkullKnight
I find that origins was more difficult than awakening overall. I played through awakening on nightmare difficulty and I really only had to retry 2 fights, and I beat both of them on the second try. Funny thing was that I was wearing my tier 7 armor from origins for the whole time, and using my origins weapon for most of the time. Nightmare+ hasnt been updated in quite a while. Does it run ok on the newest patch? Im not trying to make the enemies much stronger than me. Im just looking to add a bit more challenge to the game. Boss level humans do tend to have excessive hp, but thats what FCR was made for. I am finding the game more difficult on my new char though, since Im not familiar with playing as a rogue. Is stealth a good investment for a melee rogue? Yesterday I tried charging at a miniboss and I dropped dead when I got there lol. Any idea where to find the level cap remover? EmptyPuppet
You could try my mod. The setup wizard allows you to install quite a few balance tweaks! Dragon Age: Origins - Mod adds 600 New Items + Loot System (30 Settings) + Setup Wizard This mod for Dragon Age: Origins changes the itemization of the game. It adds about 600 NEWBALANCED ITEMS and a FULLY CONFIGURABLE LOOT SYSTEM to the game. All the new items were created using a pattern to ensure that everything is balanced and to make sure, that there are no overpowered item combinations when using the difficult default settings. The new items are SOLD BY VARIOUS VENDORS in the world, but they CAN ALSO BE ACQUIRED BY LOOTING DEAD ENEMIES OR CONTAINERS. Whenever you enter an area for the first time, the new loot system randomly places the new magic items and other goodies in all kinds of lootable objects. You can even EDIT THE PERCENT CHANCES to see these items drop directly. You can tweak the loot system to your liking by setting OVER 30 DIFFERENT SETTINGS. With all the new loot, you will constantly be improving your equipment over the course of the game. The mod also allows you to enable some balance changes that increase the difficulty of the game. A few misc things like a modified Auto Loot which is compatible to this mod are included as well. The new loot system and all other settings are optional and can easily be configured or disabled by running the setup wizard at any time.
