Azrael32
Hi guys - I'm running oblivion with a hell of a lot of mods, and one of them has changed the lifetime of arrows to around one second (i.e. one second before they fade out to nothingness), but I would rather have it at five minutes or something. Which line of oblivion.ini should I change to do this? Thanks

Which line of oblivion.ini should I change to do this? Thanks How about 20min? ;-) In General Oblivion, there is a thread entitled 'Optimizing Oblivion' with a link to an article. You can tweak the .ini file (it's easy, i didn't think it would be this easy) that lenghtens the time that arrows stay around, from like, 90sec to 20min. Azrael32
Thanks a lot, I'll try to figure it out
Azrael32
Arg, sorry, but I read all three of the Optimsing Oblivion articles and none of them mentioned the arrow lifespans. I'm guessing that it has something to do with these lines - fLowPerfNPCTargetLOSTimerfHiPerfNPCTargetLOSTimeriMaxHiPerfNPCTargetCountfLowPerfPCTargetLOSTimerfHiPerfPCTargetLOSTimeriMaxHiPerfPCTargetCountiMaxHiPerfCombatCountbut since I'm kind of new to modding with the ini file I don't want to screw anything up. Dullahan
Lol. I suggest a closer look. I had teh same problem, and editing a bit of my .ini helped. It should be in teh first section, read each description careffully, lest you edit the wrong part and cause a whale of a problem.
Dullahan
I seem to have gave you misinfornation, i do apologize. It was not a tweak, but a seperate mod. http://www.tessource.net/files/cache/2855.html It's part of a collection of marksman mods, the arrows should stay on the ground for about 15minutes, as opposed to the original limit of 90sec. Azrael32
Mighty_Bows_No_Damage_BonusOk, I found that mod, but that changes a hell of a lot of settings - so does the new version. I found the vanilla oblivion settings for marksman skills, etc. to be fine so I'm not looking to change them, just the arrow lifetime because I can't stand to shoot an arrow at the ground and have it disappear before I can pick it up (also to disappear before I can get it off a corpse). I still have a feeling it might be one of these lines - what are your default values for these?fLowPerfNPCTargetLOSTimerfHiPerfNPCTargetLOSTimeriMaxHiPerfNPCTargetCountfLowPerfPCTargetLOSTimerfHiPerfPCTargetLOSTimeriMaxHiPerfPCTargetCountiMaxHiPerfCombatCount
