Archive Invalidate=Crash when loading or new game

After modding the game with hgec textures and face textures, i played through it but forgot to use archive invalidation leaving me with a texture issue that i did not realize was because of archive invalidation until now. Once i did turn on archive invalidation for meshes and textures, i couldn't load any of my save files or start a new game, it would load 1/3-1/2 of the way and then the game would just suddenly close. If invalidation is turned off though, the game will run properly.

What kind of archive invalidation did you do? Most of 'gurus' here would suggest you to do BSA redirection.

 

- Delete everything from ArchiveInvalidation.txt, make it an empty file. Do not delete the file itself!

- Run Oblivion Mod Manager, click 'Utilities', choose 'Archive Invalidation'.

- Select method 'BSA Redirection'.

- Instead of using OBMM for archive invalidation, you can install 'Archive Invalidation Invalidated' and forget about archive invalidation ever.

Empty the text file, and use OBMM > Utilities > Archive Invalidation > BSA Redirection (not alteration)

 

OBMM re-adds the redirection BSA automatically, so it requires slightly less upkeep than ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated!, from what I can tell. The do the same thing, archive invalidation-wise, so there is no need for both. Use only one method of Archive Invalidation at a time.
