Romance in Awakening

I had heard before I bought Awakenings (before it came out) that there wasn't going to be romances and it did disappoint me, even if they are pointless, but I mean, it's a part of your charecter, right? I mean, Building a relationship in Origins helps develope what drives your charecter, it helps with the backstory! And in Awakenings, you should still have the oppertunity whether it be helping Velanna overcome her hatred of humans or helping Justice experiance mortal feelings or maybe even giving Sigrun a reason to live. Anyone agree? Anyone interested in trying? I mean, you don't have to but hey, I'd download the mod.

Plus, there's so much less of it (than in DA:O) to begin with. Monosyllabic one-liners, for the most part, and Oghren's belches make up a disproportionate share! :rolleyes:

I wonder if the Pearl could move to Amaranthine :woot: I bet it would be easier to import it than it would be to create sex scenes for the AW party especially since it is already completed.

Really, none of the characters in Awakening are suitable for romance, here's a little quest to prove my point; Name one character in Awakening that you feel emotions other than those generated by the occasional laughing fit. Anything? No? Good. The stark and simple truth is that Awakening is Dragon Age Lite, on the emotional level anyway. You see a big part of why Origins was so brilliant was the characters, and the fact they created powerful emotions within the player, and allow you to become attached to them. The beauty of Origin's romance was the fact that we felt empathy and warmth for the characters, something BioWare did perfectly.

Unfortunately, the former is imposable to cater to in Awakening, due to the fact that all of the characters were never designed to evoke emotions of any sort, only generic amusement and interest.

To be fair you could grow attached to the characters in Awakening to some extent. I had wished that there was a romantic evening in with the sultry Valenna. And I know very well she wasn't holding the fact that I was human against me ;)
