sleaaels
Now we all know that the borders can be disable to explore outside of cyrodill (i'm not sure just how far) Is it safe to assume this will be expansion areas for the future? or is it extra land mass for the modding community to show their talents? Obviously if a modder uses, say the black marsh and later find that bethseda has decided to add content to it in the expansion it would be rough on the modder (all that hard work). So are most of you modders staying away for the borders because its reserved for the expansion or just because you don't want to. If bethseda's not going to use those area, will the modding community use it?I'm just curious, all that land and nothing on it!
KeepSmilin
I thought those areas were outside the game completely. For example, Morrowind area was featured in... Morrowind... And other areas were featured on their own games. I'm not a modder so I don't know if those areas are accessible if the game files are modified though. willias23
I have recently heard of 2 mods using these outside of boundary areas: The Elsweyr Confederacy (http://www.silgrad.com/wbb2/board.php?boardid=67)ANDThe Breeding mod (http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=453406) Hope this helps, yoursWillias

dylandvillian
I think that right now that the land is being wasted and that bethseda will actually do expantions to that area (maybe) i'll cross my fingers on this topic. [email protected]
trog2006
Whilst we're on the subject of land, I've tinkered with the landscape editor and have a fair idea of what I'm doing (I use vue d'esprit terrain maps in a similar way). My question is simple (The answer may not be though j/k) Is there a way of creating my own world-space, so that I can generate my own cities? I'm after using the CS to recreate our current Rolemaster campaign in 3d...at least on a mapping level. Who knows what could transpire as a result :) Oh, and also in which way do the wilderness coordinates go...is it the traditional x,y?
Vagrant0
Creating new world spaces can be done in the CS, the tough part is getting the landmass right and figuring of some way to connect it to the game world. As for the areas outside the borders, while there are a few mods, and modders already playing with various uses, I would imagine some likelyhood of them being part of future expansions. There is certainly enough ingame gossip about those areas for the game to go that way. I would say to use a new world space if possible, just to avoid future conflicts, and conflicts with people changing the same area.
dylandvillian
I think that a good idea for a mod would be to add a ring of land to the map per a mod. Eventually compiled into a larger mod that unlocks more land around the map. then modders can d/l this mod and make there mod on top of the work. Instead of a bunch of modders making the own areas accessible, not concidering each others mods. That's my idea on the wasted land around the map.
