Decent system - low FPS

Hi, guys!

I am a newbie here and need your help. I really enjoy the game and all the mods. I have a decent rig Athlon II X4 635 and ATI 5770. According to benchmarks I must be getting like 60 FPS and more. Instead I have about 40 in buildings and about 25-30 in the Wasteland. If there are some raiders it gets more like 25. Well, I am not happy about that at all. Of course, I have the latest drivers and what not. I noticed that has gotten worse after I have installed a couple of mods and started a new game. I have the following mods: F3 Wanderer's Edition, EVE, MMM (Marty's Mutant Mod), Weapon Kit Mod and all of the DLC's. Turning all of the mods off made the game run better (35-40 FPS), but I assume it was mostly due to the fact that there were less creatures and raiders. I am lost. I love the game, but that spoils all the fun. I know this question has been asked a lot already, but still didn't manage to find an answer.

Thanks in advance!

I had issues before with performance on a Radeon card. Go into Catalyst Control Center and make sure you don't have any 3d enhancements on, leave everything set to "application settings".

Hmm, everything was already on application settings. I turned Catalyst AI off as well, but it didn't really help. I kinda noticed that when I shorten the drawing distance of creatures, grass etc. FPS gets definitely better. But the game looks worse. I am really puzzled, since Radeon 5770 must be more than enough for that.

Thanks Eddie! I tried the RAM mod and it helps. Too bad it helps mostly in the places, where the game runs already decently.

It looks like it is a CPU related thing. From what I know F3 is multi-threaded, so there should not be any issues, but... well. I will try overclocking my CPU a bit I guess.

P.S. Lowering video details/resolution did not help.

Im glad I could help. Did you try out the Stutter Remover? It works well too.
