Exactly my sentiments, jim_uk, and for that have a kudos. It's quite clear from this thread that the Tea Party are suffering from the same kind of slurs from the liberals that people like us endured during the false dawn of the B Liar and the lamentable Brown. But now that the Coalition is trying to undo the damage, from whence come the threats? Yup. From the hard left Trade Unions, that's where. The Socialists have never been shy about issuing threats of either disruption or violence.

Funny random thought, if most gamers are lefties, how do you account for the number of conservative posters in this thread?

Because conservative posters are literate? It is pleasant to see that the deification of Obama and his vision of the world has not spread to England.

The one where Democrats ram through their Social Justice agenda despite Obama's lie about a bi-partisan House and Senate

I find that amusing when the majority of the people standing in the way of efforts at bi-partisanship are republicans with an attitude of "my way or no way." This divisive attitude is, IMO, one of the most damaging effects the second Bush had on the republican party and America in general. No matter how you slice it, G. W. Bush polarized this nation's politics and it's going to take a while to recover from that. Personally I think he flat out destroyed the republican party and am ashamed to have actually voted for him in the past. He should've stayed governor of Texas (and I -live- in Texas) where at least he could do no real harm. Don't take this the wrong way. I am not a dyed-in-the-wool liberal. I'm not a die-hard conservative either.

Also amusing in that you make it sound like the people didn't want the health care bill. Here's the problem with that: if they didn't, they would've elected McCain, and/or more republicans to congress.

I well and truly believe what I said before though. The Tea Party will, in all likelihood, morph into the new GOP as it matures and sheds the extremists. It pretty much has to, since again, the GOP is trying its best to kill itself. They'd do well to distance themselves from Palin, too.

I love what you say here and in your prior post on this subject. You have a voice of reason in a maelstrom of dissonance and discord. Thank you for giving me some very interesting perspectives to consider. - Grannywils

A voice of reason in a maelstrom of dissonance and discord? :wallbash: Is this another way of saying that no-one is allowed to argue against Obama and the liberal crew, because they are right and we are wrong?

i do not think that Grannywils was making that jump Ginnyfizz, she only mentioned that it gave her another perspective to ponder. Even Liberals can reason though I do not agree with Evilneko that republicans are the sole bearers of the responsibility for the division within American politics.

Thank you for listening, Aurielieus. That is exactly what I was trying to say. I had never considered his particular viewpoint regarding the direction for the Republican party and found it worthy of my consideration. And, yes Liberals can reason, Ginnyfizz. And nor do I hold Republicans solely responsible for the division within American politics. As a matter of fact, in my humble opinion, I'm beginning to see less and less of a difference between the two primary parties in this particular country every day.

Ginnyfizz, although this is a debate site, and you are certainly entitled to disagree and debate with me, I sometimes get the feeling that you don't always take the time to listen to me first. You've correctly made an assumption that I lean more towards the left than the right, so I get the impression that you immediately jump in feet first on the attack. The fact is I have frequently been known to take the other side of an argument, because I am a "thinking" liberal, and I don't just speak without thinking first.

Aurielius: Ahem... just as an aside between you and me, I consider myself reasonably literate. - gw

The vitriol from the right-wingers (and yes, in my experience, it's been right-wingers who are the most hostile) in this thread is a perfect example of why I stopped participating in the political sections of other forums. They take every chance they get to attack people who don't agree with them no matter where they sit on the political spectrum, and just love to make statements like "oh so it's not ok to disagree with liberals" etc. I wonder if it's because they are bitter about how the one media outlet that has a (heavy) conservative bias (and lies about it) is seen as a joke by anyone not on the far right. And the other two have either a tacitly-acknowledge leftward slant, or just plain irrelevant.
